Maybe something to do with local tax structure and additional taxes if any. Apple has to explain about this

Anonymous, 12 Sep 2023Keep complaing 5v is 999 euros in Germany with headphones (... moreI have a feeling you don’t live in Germany because the 14 Plus 256GB is 1079€. And that’s on Apple’s website. The 15 128GB is 949€ which is kind of a direct competitor to the Sony 5 V. Yes, iPhones are expensive, but Sony loves to keep the price way too high for nothing, even if they barely sale those top end phones. Hell, Sony overcharges for all their electronics to be honest (look at the difference between Sony and LG when it comes to TVs).

Here in Malaysia, we got a MYR 200 (~ $43) price increase from last year's predecessor throughout the range. What used to be MYR 6,299 (~ $1,345) for 14 Pro Max 256GB is now MYR 6,499 (~ 1,390) for 15 Pro Max 256GB.
It's a similar story for the Pro variant. The 14 Pro 128GB was MYR 5,299 (~ $1,132), but now it's MYR 5,499 (~ $1,175) for 15 Pro 128GB.
