I mostly use my airpods for the gym, youtube, and phone calls. Majority of my lossless music are stored on my Xperia and walkman with a 1TB memory card. Music on my iphone is mostly for carplay. I still like Apple Music and Apple is my main ecosystem. I mean, i am still using mini disc and use wired headphones when I get the chance. I still use my ipod classic every now and then.

    Edit:

The encoder is opensource so Apple can integrade LDAC in their OS to support existing devices that has LDAC receiving capabilities.

However, LDAC decoder is still proprietary and requires licensing fees so Apple will have to pay Sony to properly receive and decode LDAC with their earphones/headphones.

I Just Read, 13 Sep 2023Apple updates Airpods 2 with USB-C loss Audio and IP54 rati... moreThe only earphones capable of 24-bit lossless is the Galaxy Buds2 Pros.
This is nothing but the usual pretend specs Apple sells their stuff with. Unfortunately for the consumer, tech blogs always plays along on the lies.

Apple updates Airpods 2 with USB-C loss Audio and IP54 rating

I don't visit the Apple Vineyard, but are aware or its existence / location etc

This airpods only supports lossless when used with the Pro Vision headset
Airpods as airpods do NOT support lossless streaming.

            https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT212183#:~:text=3rd%20generation)%3F-,AirPods%2C%20AirPods%20Pro%2C%20AirPods%20Max%2C%20AirPods%20(3rd%20generation,don't%20support%20lossless%20audio.

I don't want to get to technical here, CD Quality Audio is 16 bits / 44 KHz
Essentially more bits better sound quality
            16 bits is 2^16 65536

So if you read 16 bits 48Khz you have a slightly better sampling rare.
The bits incremenatal rate are "normally" by 8
            24 , 32, 48
Apple lossless is of course CD Quality, however 20 bit / 48 Khz Apple did not complete one whole Audio step

There are audiophiles who would be able to detect this so I've heard (get it)

Now who is saying not to get thr Apple 15?

Hahahahaha Wireless Lossless audio.....Hahahaha. even Ldac is not lossless. Apple you are not fooling anyone.

That's just sad...LDAC is Sony technology, and I'm guessing that Apple doesn't want to pay their licensing fees (even if Anker and others do). LDAC isn't even supported to iOS/MacOS products, why would they bother putting it on AirPods when the only devices serving up LDAC connections are Android?

Especially for people who bought the airpods pro 2

Would’ve made more sense if they had released a separate model called the AirPods Pro 2T and discontinued the pro 2.
