Should we really care about getting the very latest version the moment it got launched? I have friends who still use phones running Android 9 and Android 10 to this day.

Anonymous, 19 Sep 2023Got rid of my 6a recently, couldnt stand the overheating an... more😂😂😂 you know you're mad about getting rid of pixel 6a. Doesn't even have awful battery life and it's twice as good in android 14 beta. Depends where realmi works. Here where I'm located it sucks

Cpt.Power, 19 Sep 2023Maybe the android 14 is so bad they will skip it and releas... moreexcept for the fact that android 14 beta builds have been relatively stable when it comes to the beta builds
there is not a chance that google is skipping 14, especially when its this far in development.

Anonymous, 19 Sep 2023Why does that feature, where the notifications banners are ... moreBecause the screen recorder is a system app with root access. These types of apps require a full software update to gain new features.

potato4k, 19 Sep 2023Meh, who cares. Majority of Android users won't even b... moreEven those who do see it won't recognize it. Upgrades are iterative for years now. They should,d have settled to one number and add decimals instead of increasing the main number.
Mode and more, all it matters are the security upgrades and even them don't matter if you're being tergeted (plenty of exploits making the rounds in the dark web). But at least they (security upgrades) protect you against mass scamming, so that's something.
So yeah, other than security upgrades the rest barely add anything. Time for a new form factor, old one (current one) is dying. Festure phones survived 12 years or so before iPhone and 15 before smartphones replace them completely. Smartphones in mainstreamed use are already 13 year old, time for something new. They are boring.

Maybe the android 14 is so bad they will skip it and release android 15.
Anyway 4 is unlucky number in china and many eastern countries.

I'd take a late stable release over a buggy mess that destroys the functionality of the phone.
My pixel 6a and 7a are working perfectly fine as is. Don't know why majority of the people on this site are sitting on the edge of their seats for a new Android update lol

Almost a year already of monthly Pixel 7 updates. Finally got VoLTE a few months ago despite being in an unsupported country. But still no 5G for almost a year already. I really hope the Android 14 update next month will unlock 5G for unsupported countries. If not, it's just not worth buying a Pixel phone despite how good the camera is.

Meh, who cares. Majority of Android users won't even be seeing Android 14 until next year, and most of them only when they upgrade to new phone anyway.
