Overpriced in the UK imo, and won't buy simply because it feels like we are being ripped off and subsidising the US. I have a pixel 6 and don't especially like it. It will be out of contract in a couple of weeks and I'll be replacing with an s23, or perhaps a Moto edge 40. It just feels like the pixels are too big and too heavy and I have not been impressed with the build quality. Even considered an iPhone but not sure I want that radical a change. Tbh, I've been very impressed with the edge 40 neo I bought my wife (£254 with Bose quiet comfort 2 earbuds for free). It does most of what I need from a phone in a much neater physical package than the pixels and a bargain price! I think I have settled on the s23 though. Pixels were ok when they significantly undercut the competition on price. They cannot complete head to head at similar price points.

This practice should be looked into, especially as the pound against the dollar is around 1.20 (1.20 dollars = 1 UK pound!

How many more years it needs optimizing? Tech moves fast, there are sensor way more capable even GN2 now, especially when talking about new Sony's LYTIA. GN1 can be now considered just as old as Sony sensor that Pixels used for years. There is a hardware limit, and GN1 is basically at that limit on P7 Pro already. GN2 would bring actual improvements in all fronts, meaning a 4k120fps support, which is perfect for slow motion, this would be extremely beneficial to Pixels Cinematic Pan, also updated more capable AF, also support for mentioned Staggered HDR, improvement in detail and low light, and especially video recording quality with larger sensor, larger pixels and capability of simply higher bit rate.
It like buying a new car, but manufactured put in an old engine from generations ago which is not as good, and you are saying yeah it is fine... Some people just want to be ripped off I guess and then complain afterwards.

Very costly phone and nothing to stands out.
Rocking Motorola edge 40 pro and the phone looks much better in my opinion also have lot more accesories in box.

Google is still optimizing their algorithms for GN1. Staggered HDR was not promised, by Google. Every generation bring enhancements and better photos. Stop whining stop chasing specs numbers, its all about the overall package and how it performs.

God this literally pixel 7 pro repacked into an ugly body with minor "upgrades". Also google finally dropped the latest 5G standard in Android 14 qpr1 to accomodate for 8 series. Pixel 7 Pro had no quality control. My p7p as well as many others had it's volume button popping out. And now that ugly flat display with fat bezels in p8p look even more cheap.

becuz your brain is not working and increasing price for no reason. Noobs learn how to make phones specs give 16gb ram minimum and 24gb in pro series fast charging 150w, dual sims, 120hz minimum dolby atmos etc. if you can't get out of the market.
