Samsung Galaxy S24 images reveal flat design

It's expected to launch in January next year with the Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra.

    In the S25 Samsung should put the camera triplet in a triangle arrangement inside a square camera bump

      Ki124, 29 Sep 2023Yupp. S23 seems almost perfect now except it's averag... morethis is your opinion, the design is excellent, except for the cameras, they need to somehow differentiate the S line from more affordable models, the materials in the case are not enough, it’s difficult to understand, and the camera unit would be recognizable as an iPhone, but I’m not saying to copy this tasteless stove no something unique, the main thing is not the same as on Oneplus

          I'll use a protective case anyway, but I would prefer they kept the rounded edges.

              2.5D glass is never good to begin with. I don't like too much rounded edges too. I don't understand why iPhone started this stupid trend and everyone followed.
              The old Samsung A5 was a perfect design, along with Sony XZ1 compact which has perfect size and design.

                    Back to 2013, samsung fanboys used to call gimmick stuff like IP rating, glass rear panel, stereo speakers, OIS, high resolution front camera.
                    Then all this suddenly becomes " must have for its price" after samsung starts to use.

Ever since their phones look generics AF. The s20 at least remained curvy and had higher resolution. Nowadays the only sensible choice if going for Samsung is picking the Ultra otherwise is just cut corners and paying high end prices for phones that are not so high end

I call it minimalist design, w... moreThere's minimalist that avoids senseless stylisation (which is of bad taste) and then there is minalism that lacks taste as well. Minalism can be boring and bland when not done right, for the Samsung phones I like them but the way the cameras look on the back are very boring to me now. It's all preference but I really liked the look of the old S10 and S10 plus etc. I want a phone to feel like there is actual design to it as well, even just the extra bump around the cameras that the Z Fold 5 looks a lot more appealing than the regular S23 style to me.

                        Either way, it's minor details but the iphone is another example of something that look a bit under designed on the camera space to me as well, they tried to cover it up with the square around it but it looks more child like on their design

                              We need rounded back but flat front, like on the S23. Not more edges and corners. What a failed unergonomic design.

                                  I do remember the times around 2016-2018 where curve frame/back was on the rage including Samsung as the frontrunner of this design language consecutively and because how popular it is, some people bashed to death about Sony's idealistic and trend-defying flat frame/back during those times that Sony had to change its signature design to follow a curvy frame and back for year in 2018 with XZ2/3 series and only return to its signature flat design in early 2019 gradually in Xperia 1 & 5, and fully in early 2020 with 1 II, months before iPhone 12 was released. Fast forward to today, it's surreal and unbelievable to see a Samsung Galaxy flagship series (S series) has a total flat design on this leak, because flat design was something people back then nitpicked about Sony and it's now embraced by basically most smartphone brands out there since iPhone 12 series made it popular again in late 2020, from Xiaomi and Samsung, to Motorola and BBK.

                                        JanCapek, 29 Sep 2023Anyone knows whether it will have satellite messaging capability?Theoretically all flagship android phones can use it they just dont (apple last year were using a qualcomm modem in their phones and no extra tech so should be achievable). Only android phones with this is huawei, they're on their 2nd generation of it (not sure if they use extra hardware for it).

                                        Shame huawei isnt allowed google services and got so many resteictions, they would easily be making the best phones on the market but people prefer samsung and apple so we get weak, uninspiring devices now (other than a couple phones by xiaomi and oppo, honor is also trying its best and make one of the most feature rich phones you can get).
