Now I understand. I had not ever made the connection before, but watching this presentation after Apple's iPhone 15 one, I am reminded of fundamentalist religious meetings: here the screen is the altar, and the presenter the celebrant, or priest!
I wait with baited breath for somebody to call them out over their claimed detail resolution.. surely these are just the usual quad-bayer figures and they are really 12.5MP and 12 MP resolution, like a bad apple!

i heard pixels sell well in japan, thats why they said JAPAN and the other asian nations
12% of phones are pixels in japan..it was 6% last year.
samsung is only 6% in japan but we know they dont buy it cuz its korean lol
its growing cuz japanese know when a product is great.

If those prices are correct, this would be a significant price hike in EU:
Pixel 7 649 €
Pixel 7 Pro 899 €
Pixel 8 800 €
Pixel 8 Pro 1,100 €
While Apple lowered their prices in EU for latest iPhone-s , Google decided to increase the prices for 150 - 200 EUR :(

Hoping they won't talk about AI every 2 seconds like in the previous keynote 🙄 the only people actually excited by AI are either those who have something to gain by exploiting others or those who are naive enough to believe AI is here to make lives easier without awful and unpredictable consequences in the process.

I love Google phones, but there are a few things they should solve. 1. charging speed. A 50W speed would be a welcome speed for most users.
2. Battery life could be better.
3. Sometime you find hardware issues(for example with the Pixel 7Pro the button problem).
4. The fingerprint sensor( on the Pixel 6Pro, but maybe on Pro 7 as well) sometimes will not work properly.
