Google Pixel Watch 2 arrives with new chipset and improved battery life

There is only one size, 41mm with a 1.2" display, and the design is unchanged from last year. There are a number of improvements on the inside, however.

      One size - small!! Wasted opportunity. I had the original watch and it looked ridiculous on my wrist - Google's decision for one size will ultimately be the watch's downfall plus it doesn't exactly scream gadget of desire, simply a freebie/promotional tool for selling the Pixel 8 Pro

                No thanks. That screen, being "unprotected" looks like a scratch magnet. Yeah, you could put a case/screen protector over it. I'll stick with the rotating bezel of my Galaxy Watch 6 classic.

My Watch 5 pro lasts about 2.5 days, but I don't think I can get through 8 hrs using bread crumb navigation which is the main reason I got it. Normal navigation might get me the 10 hours Samsung claims. If I activate service on it, battery life will probably be even less.

                  As a smart watch these devices have the best features, but I would look elsewhere if you need a fitness device. The apple watch ultra is no better. It's one of the most accurate smartwatches, but the battery only lasts a 1.5 days.

                    Personally I'm more bothered by the thickness. A watch like a single £50 is great. No issues with shirt, jacket, sweater.... no need to tug the watch back, it just nicely goes back after usage.
                    Some 6-7mm is just fine, just like an elegant classic Omega watch (e.g. Seamaster Polaris), the PW2 seems twice that....

                      Obviously wider would helped on that, but thinner would have been better, IMHO.

                      Yes I know they make them so big to make room for a large enough batter. But the need of a large battery fall backs on a poor OS.

                      Dump-OS smart-watches can make a tine 0.2Ah last for 3-4 weeks, with all sensor monitoring active.

                      So they really should start optimizing the OS so it could let do with a less power hungry chipset, so the watch could be halved in thickness....

                        And after that, I saw the resolution downgrade for the same price. And again the only 41mm offering, which is kinda small for my taste.
                        Nope nope nope, I'll keep my Watch3 Titanium that has a better battery life after all these years ... Sad.

                          So instead of lasting 18hrs we are going to see 24 hrs. Come on Google if Garmin can make a watch last 3 weeks why can you.
