The overheating issue is clickbait. So many reviews have not encountered this issue. It’s definitely not a Samsung level recall problem

Can't believe the amount of reactions to these "news". Very few people will care about phones overheating, unless you play Genshin Impact at max settings.
The fact that this and software updates of all things is what we talk about instead of cool phone designs like in the 2000s is proof Apple's influence needs to be brought down. There are many reasons for this, but the biggest one is that Apple's growth has never been organic.

Nick Tegrataker, 05 Oct 2023https://9to5mac.com/2023/10/04/ios-17-0-3-iphone-15-pro-ove... more"Of course, Apple could have changed something when it comes to sustained performance, which is when the device runs processing-intensive apps for longer periods of time. However, we’ll have to wait a bit longer to find out for sure."

So the fix will turn A17 pro CPU into a Helio A22 for safe charging without issues.

Updated my 15 pro max to iOS 17.0.3 last night. Today I experienced the overheating problem for the first time since buying it. The only thing I did was taking photo from Normal 1x - 0.5x and Portraits for a few times. The screen start dimming, flash icon disabled and a pop up message says "iPhone needs to cool down"

-Trix-, 05 Oct 2023They didn't, geekbench gave exact same scoreOn iPhones 15 Pro/ Max it was confirmed in tests before and after the update that the temperature did not lower any measly 1º Degree! After this Shame, next year they put a steam sink.

ASL, 05 Oct 2023I hope they don't limit the performance to lower the h... moreThat's impossible. It's such a performance level leading to the high energy consumption, hence heat generation. If you wish a cooler device you must sacrifice some performance here due to the chip's low efficiency. I just hope the updated chip can be kept at least on par with the A16.

Yeah that tells me everything I need to know.
Anyway, the cost of living is increasing drastically, that's why people are 'broke' - because they want to actually live, instead of buying the fancy new thousand dollar phone.
