Yes, security updates is part of software support and based on my experience, samsung also gives bug fixes, performace improvement, security patch for every security updates.

Thats why i said, Galaxy A24 gets 5 years software support and 4 OS upgrades. It was a correct statement and i am right.

That would also explain why buying two entry level Samsung phone will give longer software support than buying one Google Pixel with "only" 7 years software support.

But, Apple and Samsung copies titanium frame of Essential phone from 2017.

The difference is, Apple fans still believes Apple was the first.
    🤣🤣🤣

100% credit given to Essential phone. 👍

They don't innovate but when they do something radical, it immediately is followed by rivals. Samsung innovate the recent folds and flip but even they didn't think of doing it with titanium. Wait in few days every company will do so .

A repeat of the mistake that Apple made with the new iPhone

Everyone is making a big deal how Apple used titanium, now Samsung is doing it.
Ummm, although I don't use it, and it wasn't a very successful phone, the Essential
PH-1 already did that... in 2017

You used an AI model to prove him wrong, you know those things are really flawed right? Try giving them actual compute tasks that have been around for nearly a hundred years and they can't even solve them (like turing machines). Like I said, it's generally called software support, it doesn't matter what the specific update does.

Both Hilarious & Tragic. Demand for Titanium will go through the roof and prices rise accordingly whilst more necessary uses, medical, space etc suffer as result. Nobody NEEDS a titanium phone recycled polycarbonates are miles better being lighter and non-conductive.

"Yes, software updates and security updates are similar in that they both involve changes to existing software. However, there is a subtle distinction between the two.

Software updates can include a wide range of changes, such as:

                            New features
                            Bug fixes
                            Performance improvements
                            Security patches

Security updates, on the other hand, are specifically designed to address known security vulnerabilities in software. These vulnerabilities can be exploited by attackers to gain unauthorized access to your system or data."

You're most likely the 12-year-old if you think both are basically the same.

What's even the point? Now TITANIUM is the new buzzword and everyone is rage chasing this "titanium" everything all while using just part of it. I'd be impressed if entire phone was made out of a single block of titanium. Seeing how they "glue" it as a titanium/aluminium composite, I'm not that impressed. It's just so you can slap word TITANIUM on your product and everyone is raging how this novel material is changing everything and everyone talks how cool it is. Meanwhile I'm sitting here with a 15 years old Citizen Eco-Drive solar watch on my wrist that is made entirely out of solid titanium. Bracelet, clasp, the watch chassis, all of it. And it wasn't even that crazy expensive back then. In fact, I have 3 watches made of solid titanium, 2 of which are well over decade old and only the big chungus Citizen Promaster Diver is a recent acquisition. Watch looks like it weights 2 kilograms by the size, but when you put it on a wrist you almost can't feel it. Now, that's pretty crazy actually.

Though I kinda get it why Apple is doing it. Stainless steel frame is more dent resistant, but it weights a lot. Aluminium one is light, but it dents so easily. Internals being aluminium doesn't matter since it's still as light as titanium, but won't get dented anyway.

77, 06 Oct 2023That’s what I said before, titanium is very expensive too buy useWell having no titanium is way better than having just frame from it and maybe charging conector which makes 2-% of phone and call it a titanium edition.

Its like to sell steel chain polished in 4 carat gold dust and call it a real gold chain makes no sense.
Or selling a Peugeot 206 looking car with a buggatti stickers. And call t a buggatti mini edition or something. For a price of buggatti even if whole car will be peugeot.

It will be same like making a movie with real most famous hollywood stars but the director will be just a guy who just finnished a school and have zero experience.

Apple's decision could be justified with aim to reduce weight as Titanium+Aluminium weights less than Steel but S23s have Aluminium frames already so even if Samsung use 100% Titanium then weight reduction would'be minimal.
Also there are not reported durability concerns with Aluminium frames.

So difficult to understand why Samsung want to push Titanium frames as it'd only increase cost unnecessarily with minimal returns.

Hope Samsung don't put Titanium on S24,S24+.
S24 Ultra with Titanium frame is enough to brag about.

And yet in your original comment you separated software support and Android OS upgrades:

'5 (five) years software support and 4 (four) Android OS upgrades.'

I genuinely wonder, how does your brain work?

Just admit your mistake and move on, instead of making more excuses.
