It’s not Apple’s fault that Samsung released their product in early 2023. S24 will be a 2024 product and should be compared to whatever releases in 2024.

RE: the 10x comparison. You said they both resolve similar details, but using the side by side tool, it's pretty clear the 15 PM is leaning heavily on AI to bring out details. Some of the textures, signs and leaves look absolutely awful. Like an 30x S23U shot. Look at the orange roof shingles and the lamps etc in the windows of the building. Recreated how the iPhone thinks it should look, approximating. I have noticed overall theres a lot more AI trickery in the iPhone shots, compared to the 14 PM. Trying to eek out every drop of last years sensor. Samsung is the same though, the last update has done something to the camera processing, not for good. Whether it's them rushing to make a more eye candy shot next to the iPhone 15, or whether it's because the 24U is coming out soon, I'm not sure. If I was a conspiracy theorist, I would suspect the latter XD

Processing in S23 Ultra is just a joke. I was hoping for some improvements with the last update to One UI 6.0, but still ExpertRAW, the same as the regular camera app. GCAM is literally the only way to have here good pictures out of this smartphone.

Both the iPhone 15 Pro Max ( and Samsung Galaxy S23 ultra ） have some of the largest OLEDs on the market right now, but they are quite different regarding specs and capabilities.

Find GCAM thread - should be rather high as it is the one with the most posts and just follow a link from the very first post. You will find there the app, a configuration as well as a manual. Please just keep in mind, that while GCAM is very good for photography, the Samsung app remains better for video.

i have the S23Ultra and the Photos in the 1-3 zoom are acceptable but not good.In low light rooms the S23U does exellent Photos.But when it comes to Outside Pics the Samsung is just a BIG disapointenment.I had the S10+ before and thought in 4 Years Samsung sure made a big step when it comes to camera Performance.I guess i have to install the Gcam,im just a bit scared that its too complicated.Has anyone a step by step manual for me?

Anonymous, 11 Oct 2023I use GCam on mine. Much better than the stock appI sincerely feel sorry for those who aren't. What you can get when you tune it to the camera's full potential, every stock camera will look horrible in comparison.
