Time to do same for VEHICLES!!!!!!

TheWildShadow55, 11 Oct 2023Nice. Now the rest of the U.S. should followI don't think single states doing anything is going to make much of an impact.

We need a huge bloc like EU to vote for something like this because they have so much power.

If India and China also managed to get on board then everyone would have to change.

Only it will be useful if the cost to repair such device is low, or else it is just a well written story.
For a 100 USD device i would not pay more than 50 USD as repair cost.
I think repair cost should be like this - Motherboard repair cost should be within 10 to 20% of the mobile price, Display repair cost should be within 10 to 20% of the mobile price, Battery repair cost should be within 10% of the mobile price, Port replacement cost should be within 5% of the mobile price.
I mentioned almost all type of repair that mainly needed by users and if repair costs stays below 50 % then the intitative will work well.
Otherwise people will just buy a new device than repairing it as repairing old device with high cost don't give longivity to that device.

alcatraz, 11 Oct 2023Why are game consoles excluded? Seems unfair.Probably because game consoles are long subject to modifications for pirate/bootlegged games and tampering or modifying the internals is a huge liability for the company. So this would cover that.
