14 October 2023
The Indian price isn't all that different from the European one that leaked a couple of days ago.

The body dimensions should be smaller, because it is a folding phone. But this time aspect ratio is better when compared to Samsung.

The issue is, that folding phones should tackle the tablet-phone issue what we have at the moment. All phone are ridiculous huge! Folding phone should be for a person, who is looking a compact phone but can be expanded to bigger when needed.

Again, we didn't get a compact folding phone.

woody, 14 Oct 2023139000 for oneplus foldable is a ridiculous price. its DOA ... moreVery well said.

Scon88, 14 Oct 2023This price is way to high for a oneplus device. They are on... moreHuge insight right here!

OnePlus Open - if it launches with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, that alone (over $1300) will heavily affect price and consideration for anyone smart enough to research foldable this late on the year.

Also with no global service centre's availabwl in UK or North America and probably none in Germany, this will heavily affect repair cost considerations:

Will they even send you a decent high end phone or mid range for a temporary replacement BEFORE you ship yours overseas while yours takes 6-+2wks+ minimum for repairs?! Hmm

Then the most important thing is the software!

Due to POOR after Sales Service and Display problems, people have already created a Bad Image of The Brand through Mouth Publicity...

If OnePlus doesn't come with a competitive pricing then I am sure they won't succeed...

I am also a OnePlus premium phone user and I am very disappointed with their service...

I wouldn't mind selling out more that 1500, which is the current price of Z fold 5, If this phone was sorter and wider , like Find N2. Or come with the new gen 3 chip that launches on November, or with the new Samsung displays that lack green lines.
Oneplus is the only company that has no service center and makes you pay for sending it abroad .
Chances are that it won't have ingress protection and when you send it for Screensaver change, they will claim it was damaged and make you pay for a new one .

After the innumerable green line issues, I doubt people would be willing to spend that much on a OnePlus device (I know the issue wasn't exactly on OnePlus, but it seemed more widespread in their phones than in others).

gk, 14 Oct 2023In India people will not buy this phone at this price point... moreYeah, 90000 INR would have been better. Everyone knows at launch a product has approx 100% margins. OP 11 is awesome and OP is back for the title of flagship killer, I have one. There's no issue of service centres in India, screen issue also has lifetime warranty and free replacement here.

Reminds me of an unrelated joke that I heard somewhere, which goes something along the lines of Ghana demanding to be included in the UN's nuclear proliferation committee because they managed to sneak an old chinese warhead in into the country.

BBK is not samsung to demand top shelf prices that are backed by support centers, warranty periods, availability of parts, software support, etc. to warrant a hefty sticker price. Having a basic prototype 1st gen model, does not a premium brand make. BBK seems to be slipping further into delusion, as evident as it is with their new prices, with each passing day.

This price is way to high for a oneplus device. They are one of the worst at holding a trade value. I could see 1300 at most. Further they rarely offer support anywhere. Boe screen to top it off. Idk but they may have a DOA here unless they drop the asking price and offer serious trade values and support the screen for any issues for 2 years. Or atleast offer screen support for 2 years and offer amazing trade values. Plus the 8 gen 3 chip comes out by November soooooo. We shall see.

In India people will not buy this phone at this price point. one plus brand and product is low.
                    op 11 sales reflect that.

Samsung can take a gamble at foldable devices because they have Service centers all over the place but Oneplus?
                      Price is too steep.

it's their first try, and they expect people to pay 1700 euros for it? they've got to be insane to think that they can sell more than a couple hundred (don't include the tech reviewers that are going to buy it).

The Indian price estimate feels high. European price always includes VAT which pushes the base price up 10-30%.

To estimate the Indian price based on the European price, you'd expect the Indian price to be lower. But I guess we'll see soon enough.

                            It looks great.

139000 for oneplus foldable is a ridiculous price. its DOA to be honest. software experice and bugs would persist for a long time and oneplus is not so quick to resolve the problems there and given its a brand new form factor i dont see any reason to try out the first gen of this device. it took samsung a few takes for the foldable to work in a decent manner still many flaws are there. but this is simply not worth the investment.

This would definitely be bulky, but it's fine since it's their first
