I've always had Verizon (back then it was New Jersey Bell) for landline. I've always had Verizon for wireless, even back when it was NJ Bell. I bought a Samsung S22+ in order to be able to use the new C-Band 5G Ultrawide Band signals now in my location. My average data speed using Speedtest averages 280 MBPS, with the occasional result over 400. My friends tried their new T-Mobile and AT&T phones from my home. They got 127 an 92 respectively. Which service would you choose?

        What about against US Cellular?

Verizon has always been Verizon, which was a result of the merger between Bell Atlantic and GTE. Verizon Wireless was initially a joint venture with Vodafone (I'm guessing this is where the idea of "being owned" came from) until Verizon bought them out and became the sole owner.

I wouldn't want them owned by Comcast, as they ruin everything they touch.

I don't care how fast the claimed speed is. If the service is dang near unusable, it doesn't matter.

AT&T may be "slower", but at least it's available and reliable for me.

Currently... morehere it's literally €7.99 or 9.99/month for unlimited calls, sms and ~50/70GB of fake NSA 5G (so yeah basically 4G+). it's also noteworthy that 2G is still completely operating here, old phones (and samsungs with custom ROMs :) ) can be used with no issues. with some carriers even 3G. oh, and no whitelists/weird discounts only available for certain brands forcing people to buy Apple/Samsung/Google.

I'd gladly pay more to have mmwave like in the US though. which is an absolute dream to have here given that they can still advertise their mediocre 4g as 5.

Who cares about speeds, what are they good for, besides benchmarks?
When you travel outside a city and have no signal, what is that "speed" good for?

James Holden, 17 Oct 2023The mobile plans in the US are pretty ridiculous. Currently... moreNot American, but the reason why these carriers have such expensive plans for such outdated speeds and latency is because of ridiculously lax antitrust laws. These carriers also own Wi-Fi providers, and both sub-industries lobby the US government extensively. Verizon is owned by Comcast, who themselves also own Xfinity (Wi-Fi provider), and are owned by NBC (TV channel). These telecoms companies own lots of sub-industries, and anytime competition pops up in town, they either shut them down through laws that they helped create through lobbying that require artificially high barriers of entry, or they just buy them outright. They are monopolies in every sense of the word, and there even seems to be regional monopolies that are going on between them. Antitrust has been completely ineffective ever since the Reagan administration reinterpreted them to mean what they explicitly didn't mean, and it was of course reinterpreted by one of AT&T former highest people in command, soon after the US government had split them up.

T-Dizzle, 17 Oct 2023T-Mo is definitely faster, but their coverage isn't re... moreI was able to test both Verizon and T-Mobile at the same time in two US states on the same phone. In my experience, T-Mobile had poor coverage in Wisconsin, signal was spotty or non-existant even outdoors whereas in Illinois it's really good especially in Chicago.

Verizon on the other hand had good or sufficient signal everywhere.

Also, there was this time when I lived in a bigger apartment and whenever I went to the laundry room that was in the center of the building, T-Mobile would drop signal completely so my phone switched to Verizon with a bar or 2 📶

The mobile plans in the US are pretty ridiculous. Currently Tmo base plan is about $80 and I've read that they will be bumping the price to $100 for unlimited 5G data but just 50GB of sharing data per month. Either way, it's pretty ridiculous to pay $100 per month just for using the phone.

Why's it so expensive in the US? How do you guys survive on such expensive plans? Jeez.

With my Motorola edge 40 pro here at Slovakia capitol city Bratislava and with operator or network carrier O2 also known as O2 Telefonca i have 265,90 megabytes with Ookla speed test tested via Chrome brownser not app.

Well you can have the fastest internet on the planet but as long as you deplete your phone case of samsung, apple faster than you can chare it its useless to have fastest internet speeds because its charging speeds are complete garbage.
Woonder when Samsung and Apple will have at least 150W charging 300W would be better with charger included in box.
Noone is interested in buying incomplete device without charger and many else accesories most others gives to the box with phone.
