            1. These kind of markups should never happen. Exposing them increases awareness and this market pressure to cheapen the storage upgrades.
            2. These markups have gotten worse and worse over the years. We used to see Apple doing 500-1000% markups, now we see 2000% markups from Apple.

                      CNY 1200 ($164) for a tiny esim chip? This has to be Apple price gouging at its finest.

                      Also, CNY 1200 to go from 64GB to 256GB, a 2000% markup on the storage.

                      In China you can get a 1TB flagship phone with great cameras for the price of a base model iPad with options. And yet people in China still seem to always prefer Apple.

                      It's like choosing a "FSD" optioned-up base Tesla Model 3 over a top of the line BYD Han (watch Doug DeMuro's video on it if you don't know what it is), even when they are the same price.

                              Typical tech “journalism”, missing out the most important news.

                              It’s not about iPad, it’s about China allowing eSIM. This is huge news. Maybe we will see Apple eliminating iPhones with dual physical SIM soon. Grab those HK iPhones while you can. 😁
