Please stop imitating bad designs. Why do some brands want to imitate whatever Apple does, even if it sucks in terms of design and/or usefulness? I don't get it. I get that Chinese makers love to imitate everything, especially things from countries they hate but even knowing this I still don't get it.

Do Android OEMs really need to shamelessly copy Apple more and more? This makes me truly appreciate Sony smartphone as they are individually different from the norm. Still loving my Xperia 1 iv to this day.

Anders, 19 Oct 2023It's nonsense because fingerprint scanners exist and t... moreit absolutely makes sense, i'm the perfect opposite, I had 3d face recognition Huawei Mate 20 Pro (first phone offering this feature, 5y ago, with iphone x), sadly no other Android offers this feature since, beside huawei mate series (which were not allowed GMS since) and thankfully honor with the magic pro series now.
I'd like 3d face recognition but without going iOS.
Did you ever try it at least ? because I can tell you it's way more faster and convenient (especially under rain, or wearing gloves) than using fingerprint, you just look at your phone and it's unlocked, you can't beat that. Litteraly all other android phones lack this feature, so you still habe choice, while the opposite ain't true

If I wanted a big ugly pill cutout I'd get an iPhone. And be able to record more than 15mins of 4k footage which the meme Magic5 Pro couldn't.

I honestly like the centered pill, but I wish they had a wide camera, an ultrawide camera and a ToF 3D LiDAR. Having a dedicated wide and combining it with an ultrawide is much better than having a slightly wider-than-wide sensor that you can then technically call ultrawide but is actually still pretty narrow. It would be even better if the wide and ultrawide were both 50MP Quad Bayer sensors, as then you could also do lossless 2× zoom with the wide sensor and get something optically similar to 50mm.
I would wholeheartedly love it if they did something like this:
•50MP, f/2.2, 25mm (wide), 1/2.74"-type, 0.61µm (1.22µm binned), PDAF, multi-zone Laser AF
•50MP, f/2.2, 12.5mm (ultrawide), 1/2.74"-type, 0.61µm (1.22µm binned), PDAF, multi-zone Laser AF
•0.3MP, ToF 3D LiDAR (depth/multi-zone Laser AF/biometrics)
