xslvrxslwt, 23 Oct 2023That's true too but the reason they're holding up... moreWow, don't know, how you came up with your knowledge, but as far the reviews showed all apple, even new ones, were sometimes lagging in common use. Especially seen when reviewer showed screen footage, even in settings menu, especially true when browsing.
Which is also true for android, may be, it's workload dependable.
Couldn't say apple were any "generations ahead".

pl2rts, 23 Oct 2023I would think iphones are used longer is cause they have 5 ... moreThat's true too but the reason they're holding up their value is as they're performant as they were 5 years ago on the newest version of iOS.
Yes, iOS is pretty simple (this is heavily changing/changed though) but don't be mistaken that it doesn't need the same 'horse power' android needs - even with all the optimizations it receives from both sides.
The reason they can push 5y old iphones for that long is what I've previously written. Read Google Pixel 8 Pro's hands-on review on this very website, the performance section states it's less powerful than A14 Bionic (3y old SoC) let alone something else, that's why 7y is impossible atm and is solely marketing crap which hypes up people/fanboys with 0 technical knowledge..the phone isn't even smooth rn as per the review here.

xslvrxslwt, 23 Oct 2023No, they're comparing it to Apple Bionics which are 3-... moreI would think iphones are used longer is cause they have 5 years of updates so there wont be point to change when you be up to date for 5 years. For some people this matters a lot even tough they still want to be up to date with hardware too so they still change there phone yearly to new model of iphone.

If this will be lot faster than Apple 15 pro max uses and if it does not overheats aas said Apple phones i am expecting mediatek to be banned by US government just like US did with Huawei.
But lets see.

Interesting. 9200+ is around 1.7M and now 9300 is 2M
While majority of phones in budget to middle class still are in the range of 300K to 600K
Poco F5 with SD7+ Gen 2 is around 1.1M but there is only like 2 phones with that chip so i dont count it in the middle class as the chip power still is like flagship cause some brands flagships dont even have this high scores like for example Google Pixel 8 that is not even 1M score and is around 800-900K
Also weird to see how long it took to get to 1M points in Antutu and now with only 1-2 years it is already 2M

Ouifuf, 23 Oct 2023Finally I can play tetris at 900 fps. New benchmark for mob... moreNo, they're comparing it to Apple Bionics which are 3-4 generations ahead in term of the most important thing for mobiles - ST performance. ST performance is what makes phones smooth - not the MT. Also the sole reasons iPhones are used for way longer than Androids is ST and not MT, that's why they don't lag while this dimensity is already as old as iphone 12 in terms of longetivtiy potential (& why 3-4y is useless on androids, let alone Google's 7y marketing bs as the soc is 3-4 generations old on launch).

the best part is "There are no “small” Cortex-A520 units" but avoid no kernel upstream is the same as low security

Most exciting chipset of the coming year
Because it has one question to answer...
Can they actually pull of only big cores???
That has not been ever done in the mobile space
Even if it fails I commend them for doing something different

Finally I can play tetris at 900 fps. New benchmark for mobile performance.
Also how long till ppl complain it's still not powerful enough bc they're comparing it to some server cpu lol
