Anonymous, 30 Oct 2023They covered LG phones pretty extensively and they always r... moreIt's been a very long spiral, since the G5 they have lost their identity really.

The previous LG was about LOTS of hardware & software features with either a mass market appeal (G series) or a fashion/utility/enthusiast appeal (G Flex, V-series).

Remember when they had RAW support before others? Remember when their curved screen made large 16:9 screen easier to handle, not to mention better for calls and less prone to bendgate? Remember when they had scrolling on the quick settings, instead of having to expand it? Volume buttons and power on the back of the phone? They even had face unlock (even if it was insecure) not to mention the knockcode and various ways to cast, like DLNA and Miracast. You could also see 6 apps in the recents screen. Now all of this is gone, the whole experience has been sanitized to hell.

After the G4 though, they lost a lot of goodwill with hardware problems and started moving into "first release" gimmicks. The modular platform was a good idea but got completely steamrolled by Motorola. LG was lazy and thought people would try them even with annoyances like compatibility, not being hot swappable, and no guaranteed shelf life. Motorola solved ALL OF THAT. The G6 and forward were really not memorable. The V30 and forward took away the dual screen, didn't even try to recreate it in software. Now they've alienated both groups. By this time Samsung was on it's "I am the best, I am the future, I am the best, I am the future...." advertising too, like they were being managed by Nicki Minaj or something.

They literally employed BTS and gave people what they supposedly wanted for years with that "completely flush, flat, no camera bump phone". They also pandered to the rideshare economy with the Wing and the huge screen/sexy design (but make it cheap), but it was too late.

Covid really was the last nail in the coffin. The V60 and Wing were well received. The Velvet was maybe not the best value proposition, but it was sexy and huge, so maybe it could have appealed when on sale. It was one of the cheapest huge phones.

YUKI93, 30 Oct 2023Remember when popular sellouts like MKBHD and Mrwhosethebos... moreThey covered LG phones pretty extensively and they always recommended LG phones and praised them for the innovations. They have also expressed valid concerns about support regarding those innovations. For example the modular phone from LG, I think it was the G5; It had promise, but very few accessories and the concept was abandoned the following year. In general, the Youtubers offered decent coverage for LG phones, but outside of the Tech Bubble hardly anyone was familiar with LG phones because they did very little mass marketing. If you want to sell a phone to the masses you send it to Gal Godot and Kim Kardashian, not to tech youtubers unfortunately.

That pretty much says it all. While I can agree that lack of marketing is the reason why LG Mobile isn't popular, I still always maintain that popular sellouts like them is the reason why LG Mobile is gone from the smartphone market.

Always love when they slap buzzwords on it, utterly oversaturate an image so it looks fake and vibrant, then sell that as an "improvement". If I wanted to generate an image, I'd hit up Stable Diffusion and Co. It's supposed to be a camera, not AI bullcrap.

YUKI93, 28 Oct 2023Still waiting for Samsung to fix the shutter lag from that ... moreExactly, even a 1inch xiaomi 13 pro am sure has the fastest shutter speed. It's too slow on the Samsung.

This is what consumers get when Samsung is made the Android leader in America: 200megapixel cameras (that still only output 12.5mp images) and no hardware expansion capabilities.

We need real competition back, like Huawei allowed back in, LG, Nokia, and ASUS. But it's been so long it's like a mirage.

No microSD and 10 years Android updates no Samsung. Done taking bs from phone manufacturers.

Anton., 27 Oct 2023According to rumors from the same Samsung information websi... morebecause samsung's 10x zoom is crap, is not usable in low light due to extremely small sensor and photos between 3x and 10x look like crap too.
i compared it with a x90 pro+ and the 3.5x optical from vivo looks better in most scenarios especially in indoor and low light and at any range so samsung definitely needs to upgrade that sensor .

Still waiting for Samsung to fix the shutter lag from that 200MP sensor.

Honestly still no charger in box, no earphones, no screen protector, no case as other chinese companies gives etc.
Releasing incoomplete device is a no.
For lower price other competitors can make equally same or a lot better device with all necessary accesories in box.

I for one would just be happy with a camera that can capture action stills. i.e. freeze motion without blur, preferrably indoors.
