Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 Retro announced

30 October 2023
The new limited edition Galaxy Z Flip5 pays homage to the legendary Samsung E700 from 2003.

So basically its just a different colour scheme for the flip 5, a bunch of kids stickers in the box and most likely a price hike. How samsung can say this is "retro" or "homeage" to the e700 is actually quite laughable. People would rather a charger and/or case again, useful things for the customer (like satellite communication for the new phones, 1 good thing they have done atleast).

Also still going mad with the samsung news i see, had more articles about the s24 than any other phone including ones getting released... NOW (4 months away atleast for s24 series). Like the 20th time we've heard about oneui 6, dont think ive seen 1 article for the likes of oppo or sony or mostly any other company releasing betas or android 14 for their devices. Wasting an actual article for this is madness, more info than some budget phones getting released... Its literally a colour change gsm... Chill.

Start doing segments for different markets (not just us and eu focused, its the world wide web remember), focusing on other brands or companies developing tech/phone industry, bring some fun and interesting news again please.

Mills, 30 Oct 2023I don't care; I'm just asking what's the poi... moreits just a niche thing companies do all the time. they exist for the purpose of doing something ''different''

So to sum it up, it's not a retro edition/homeage to the e700 or any different to the normal flip, simply a new colour, a load of stickers and i bet a huge price increase.

Instead of putting childrens stickers in the box why not actually start putting in a charger and putting the customer 1st (started to with the satellite communication, an actual useful feature).

Also start finding actual mobile phone tech and coverage of all other phone brands, maybe do dedicated segments fot markets around the world and whay developments seem to be happening, not, "samsung is releasing oneui beta for the 18th time, the s24 thats out in 4 months has had more coverage than any other device including ones coming out now, more spam of the same exynos chip we know about, half the news coverage being just complete rumor or speculation and no facts"

Pay some struggling influencer to spam some lies about cameras and hope the dumbest out there will buy into it.

At least Samsung innovated the use of foldable glass. What did those Chinese brands innovate lately? Carbon copying isn't an invention. Xerox did that in the '70s.

Even in limited edition boxes Samsung gives you almost nothing.

By just coloring the phone same, can make it nostalgic. You need to bing in the design language a bit as well.

I think the most iconic Samsung phone from the past is the blue eye of Samsung phones (2001)

I find it both hilarious and very sad that the old Samsung E700 from 2003 had an IR blaster, while no modern samsung phones do. Having an IR blaster is so convenient. It basically eliminates the need for any other remote controls and buying separate batteries for them. This is why I now only Xiaomi phones, which still have IR blasters
