It makes non techies give up quickly especially with the threat of account ban. Those of us not relying on spoonfeeding know how to update our blockers or browse youtube without our accounts. xD

Imo, the best/top social media (apps/websites) is divided into 2 categories.
For messaging, it has to be Discord, Telegram and/or Whatsapp.
For communities and opinions, Facebook leads tbh.
Everything else is war between Tiktok, Instagram and YouTube (Shorts, ew).

Elon has actually ruined twitter. Other then community notes every choice of his has been awful. He's monetized tweets for subscribers so you get paid per view. Issue is now every tweet with a large reach has it's comments littered with low effort bait and memes to drive up view count. Premium plus just makes it easier for OF bots and generic meme accounts to boost there popularity. Dumb changes as usual

Crazy how Whatsapp encrypts your DMs for free and literally every basic website/app offers free (SMS) 2FA. Imagine monetizing people's safety (of their account and themselves).
