Yes here in EU they are banned for IP theft. They stole a lot of patents fror 4G and 5G. In India Vivo is accused for the money laundering. 13 billion dollars. Vivo employees went to sensitive areas like Jammu and Kashmir. What are they doing there? I can write a whole day about Vivo dirty businesses. But now let me remind you again about big 4 companies.
Google = best cameras, pure Android, Tensor SOC.
Samsung = best displays, unique S pen, Exynos SOC
Huawei = cameras, build quality, Kirin SOC.
Apple = iOS. Bionic SOC.
Now you show me Vivo custom SOC. Or Vivo build quality. Or Vivo excellent cameras. Show me anything that I don't know except their ugly cheating and dirty businesses that Vivo is know for. I am waiting for your reply. 🙏

I haven't seen any recent reviewer turning that on in their review actually
but the vibrancy filter is always on unless you use the pro mode
I think the new phone have authentic or sonething like that to make the photo more true to life don'nt know for sure

It's easily confirmed, go to their European websites, they all have a presence in Europe. I don't know how well Vivo and iQOO sell, but I see quite a few OnePlus and Realme phones around.

it's because these beautification destroys the photos' post-processing capability. like the starbuck though popular among "amateur" a true "connoiseur" would say their coffee sucks because it is overly sweet and too much heavily processed.
so vivo's photo feels "fake", "synthetic" and "overcooked" compared to other phone with less processed photos
and dxomark fits the bill, they are a group of photography professional who can and will post-process the photo themself so when they are presented with the already overprocessed photo, of course they will mald
if you look at their top ranked phone the result won't be appealing to a regular instagram user at all, it's dark and mute, but that's just how the real deal looks like and good photographer would edit the photo themself instead of letting the phone algorithm decide for them unless you are doing point and shoot
so basically vivo target market is people who just want bright and vibrant color and don't give a f about artistic quality and accuracy
this also is the case with other bbk holding brands

3 of those company have SLOW CHARGING speed.
Other than being slow charging, Samsung display also not good. BURN IN.And Samsung exynos signal is not really great.
Google, their "pure" OS is a gimmick, True it's pure, but so what??? The battery optimization is better on the chinese brand. The slow charging is annoying.

Vivo loved because they have GREAT camera for their phone. For the $200, $300 they have a feature to beautify the picture directly from the stock camera. Their flagship device (the X-series) also have an excellent camera.
Vivo especially leading by great margin in camera stabilization. The gimbals stabilization is really miles ahead from competitor.
