All i know that if companies make anything in india it would not be cost effective.
Cost to capital, cost of labour, cost of setting up factories everything are high in india.
Skilled manpower ain't there in india and the government also acknowledges all those issues thus they are trying to do different things to reduce those.
But one thing they don't understand and that is education is not a light that can be switched on just by pressing a button.
    Education is worthless in india.
800 million people don't even know how much high level of education needed to do innovation and spread them.
Those who get better education mostly leave india and works their entrire life for a foreign nation to develop others economy.
Some comes back but they don't stay on one nation so they don't matter.
Factories in india are so low quality like they do crazy things to cut cost.
They put safety aside, standards aside and dignity aside.
Only thing they care is politics, marketing and profit.

India will be 3rd largest economy but what would it mean for it's 1.4 billion people?
    Mostly just number.
Global GDP is 105 trillion, thus 13,125 per capita in nominal terms and india is just about 4 trillion with per capita of what?
60 percent population is young as per government but they are living with so low conditions that they are just happy seeing posters.
By 2060 most young indians of today will be becone senior citizen and if industries like education, factory, healthcare, food procurement, transportation don't innovate india will be doomed.
Those who knows numbers knows every members.

Smartphon, 28 Oct 2023Politics No it's pli scheme

Anonymous, 28 Oct 2023It wasn't mentioned in the article so let me ask this:... moreBecause of pli scheme 95%+ smartphone sold in india are made in india not china
Opposition said make in india will e fail but it doesn't
Samsung have largest factory and apple has also joined make in india

[deleted post]Man please dont bash Redmi series. Compared to Apple they are way more quality phones.
Their 200 eur devices had no charging issues or on a first hit very easy to break back panel comprared to Ifruit company.
Also they are not as hot as potato when charging and even a 200 eur device by Xiaomi have at least 90 HZ screen. Apple uses only 60 with a laughable charging speeds and no charger in the box, no case or screen protector either compared to Xiaomi.

[deleted post]Se is not number iPhone

[deleted post]Yes bro iPhone 15 and 15 prowhich are now made in india have heating issues weak back panel but 15 pro and 15 pro max are god because they are Chinese🤡

Best first arguing with the apple and they will sent whole TaTa company to the courts.
Typical Apple way how to solve they money hungry bussiness.
If i had famous company like Tata mobile would up to sell apple devices but not produce anything anywhere for Apple for reasons well known to anyone half englighted.

In this case, "Making iPhone" means assembling iPhone. Assembling a phone is probably 3% of the overall value chain of the phone. Why is Tata doing this? Because they get government subsidy in the form of "Production Linked Incentive". Is assembling iPhone cutting edge of technology? Not by a long shot. This is just crony capitalism where the Government hands out money to it's trusted Corporations. I guess this qualifies as "Doing something" which is the standard that most Indians hold our government to. Even if it means wasting money, it still means "doing something" and keeps us happy. Jai Hind.

I fully support this and it's good for India. I'm not Indian nor from India. But to me, it's a good move and hopefully people in India will have a better economy. I used to have New Balance shoes that made in Vietnam and the quality is on par with made in USA. So, I believe iPhone made in India will have the same quality as made in China.

And the Indian iPhone production is still just a fraction of the global production which is still dominated by Foxconn.
