That's what happens when the market researchers go back to the developers with the information that what consumers want most of all is a cool handset :-)

Nowadays, smartphone is getting more and more powerful, and it is taking more and more heavy tasks in our daily life, that's why many smartphone are suffering from overheating issue. Thus I think cooler is a must for every smartphone and tablet in future just like today's laptop.

The rest of Docomo's summer lineup is also impressive, like Sharp's SH06E and the Fujitsu's Arrows NX F06E

(As to why they are mostly not exported) I believe the Japanese network is somewhat different from those in the rest of the world. Also they cater quite exclusively to their market. For example, they had mobile phone based payment for years before NFC became a buzzword.

AnonD-43357, 15 May 2013apple, samsung, huawei, ZTE, LG and even sony are makeing b... moreFor some reason I agree to what you said here. I mean we all wonder why does these Japanese companies doesn't
sell their stuff overseas to other countries, but only keeping them in Japan. It's not like they're small companies and can't reach out the world. Some of them got some great and interesting stuff and they never reach out to the world.

Anonymous, 15 May 2013Samsung has huge success with their AMOLED display for mobi... moreLG couldn't make Special OLED screens like Super Amoled (and plus)so they can only use regular OLED screens and they have some issues like extreme burn-in problems, ultra over-saturated colors (unlike Samsung's Samoled screens)and also one more reason; LG makes really good IPS screens and honestly they're the best(just talking about IPS screens) so why do they risk it? :)Samsung for example also makes IPS screens but with another name; PLS..They are very similar to IPS but not the same and their Super Amoleds are much better so they generally use Samoleds instead of PLS. Similar reasons.

apple, samsung, huawei, ZTE, LG and even sony are makeing billions of USD every month selling phones.
sharp is losing, panasonic think it's better to make millions with micro wave ovens and NEC is thinking about to sell their mobile division to lenovo.
that is why japan is going down! global companies like sharp, panasonic and NEC are not selling their phones worldwide. so many people are sick of samsung phones. they want quality and inovation. and sharp, panasonic and NEC are still producing japan only phones. please do me a favor. just lie down and die! you don't deserve better!

Anonymous, 15 May 2013Samsung has huge success with their AMOLED display for mobi... moreI personally prefer IPS over OLED screen since it reproduces natural color and not over-saturated.

AnonD-53679, 15 May 2013That is a very good idea. It is so simple but no one really... moreIf the heatpipes in the phone uses capillary action for their heat transfer, it wouldn't matter if it's upside down.
