Anonymous, 07 Nov 2023say good bye to privacyHow, exactly? There are no cameras and no software running on the glasses. It's literally just a TV sitting on your face.

Love tech and the idea of such tech in my lifetime. That said, stuff like this and VR headsets are going to be like those vapes kids love... it will be a good time to be an optometrist lol.

Know of a few people that need serious glasses after falling in love with VR.

Yes, I found that if you want to focus the displays properly the glasses do have to sit pretty high up on your nose.

Invetor, 06 Nov 2023Can I use this thing with prescription glasses? It says it's possible, but it doesn't show how.

Generally, the idea of AR glasses is the next logical step in the evolution of adjunct and highly functional wearable devices - starting with the smartphone, wearing a smartwatch and now these special glasses.

That being said: the technology just doesn't seem to be there. I just cannot imagine wearing these double glasses with a screen separate from the glass front.

If technologically possible, it would be ideal to have a transparent, flexible LCD/OLED screen-layer that on top of the glass, which in its default mode is entirely transparent and thus invisible, and when activated it switches into a semi-translucent mode where one can read displayed graphics from inside but not from the other side. Now, this would be gorgeous.

An other option would be to have a small "beamer"/"projector" on the inside of the frame, that would project light directly into the pupils.

Last but not least: The necessity of a wired connection is also quite a bummer. They should implement some sort of bluetooth/Wifi protocol and get some ultra-compact batteries into the frame of the glasses that would allow full use for a couple of hours.

This on the other hand is genuine AR. So you can get an overlay over real world. The real world still being seen with your own eyes and not though a display. Two completely different products.

Apple Vision is NOT even available at the time and it will cost you around 3500 USD according to the leaks.
