Samsung does it because people allow them to get away with it. Time and time again the Exynos proved to be inferior to its QC sibling. Samsung has been doing this in Europe for the past 10 years and they will continue to do it until we stop them. Stop buying their phones.

Seriously exnos good for midrange because very cheap for perf . For high end, seriously, no way...
Samsung cheat a lot (over boost power, heat, freq, cheat benchm the most) to make exy fast so say their fab compete with tsmc. And they not, they are at least still one year behind...

Also I see reviews and forums and infested by Xiaomi advertisers.

Since S20 FE which we had two identical versions one with Exynos and another with Snapdragon we could check how exynos is a lower class cpu.
Exynos version was plagued with all kind of problems, even on display because of the hotter cpu, battery problems, lag problems and power off because of it being too warm... While snapdragon version was the best phone for a few bucks in the last year.
If S24/S24+ isnt comming with Snapdragon, check S23/S23+ and stick to it, exynos is battery hungry, hot and cheat in benchmarks to appear fast but it is very slower than snapdragon.
Samsung SHOULD not name both specs as the same. This is very bad for consumers.
Its similar to someone going to buy a ferrari and when u get it, its a cheaper car with ferrari look with the same price.

Also, depending on what happens in the world in the near future, Xiaomi might end up in a situation similar to Huawei. Nothing more needs to be said.

"The same reports point to only the Korean and European Galaxy S24 and S24+ featuring the Exynos 2400"
Thank goodness I am from Asia.
No one should have to tolerate Exynos, not even your worst enemy.
If Samsung really wants to avoid the Qualcomm tax on Galaxy phones, I suggest high end Mediatek Dimensity chips on S-series phones, and midrange Mediatek Dimensity chips on A-series phones.
Mediatek gives better performance and value for money these days.
Exynos should be discontinued. Its cousin is Tensor which lives in Pixel phones, let Google deal with it.

My P30 is 4+ years old and it will be nearly 5 when I'll upgrade next year.
I keep my phones for a long time and require a small(ish) size, flagship features & 5 years of security patches support for ~€500. I'm not willing to pay more simply because that's all the risk I'm willing to take with a device that can easily get lost or stolen at any time. I don't do phone insurance or cases.
The P30 was magnificent. Hardware-wise it's still better than most of the new phones coming out TODAY! Only problem was its screen started to unglue itself in the past few months but I can regule it without taking it apart. That's it! Battery still goes for days (plural) with light use. Everything else is super and it still flies through all my apps with a butter smooth UX. Android security patch support was cut off a little after 3 years and that's THE reason I need to upgrade.
NOW. My problem with flagships in the past ~10 years it's been PRICE, price, price, no 3.5 mm audio, no/spotty aptX support and no notification led. Samsung's S series manages to run afoul of all those problems and so the only Ultra thing about it is it's ultraunlikely I'll come back to them as a customer (was a fan up to the S5, their last good S phone).
I think I'll break my €500 threshold a little to get a Xiaomi 14 and that should tell you everything there is to tell about the S24. The 14 slam dunks on the S24 and manages to avoid nearly all my pain points. It's the first real option I've had in YEARS and I can't wait to see the reviews of its Euro version early next year. I could not care less about the S24, especially the Euro version with Samsung's SoC. Very predictably it'll be exactly as bad as S23, S22, S21, etc.

I personally don't mind seeing Exynos SoC on the non-Ultra models, but I do think Samsung should totally stop doing region segregation between Exynos and Snapdragon. If Samsung really want to prove to everyone that they manage to fix their SoC fabrication process, doing the latter isn't going to help.

But US of A will still get Snapdragon even in vanilla Galaxy S models, because Americans just don't do Exynos. So, we're back to slapping EU users with inferior chipsets within same named devices. One of reasons why S23 series are best selling in years is because there is no difference between US bought S23 or EU bought S23.
