05 November 2023
Nokia's first 8MP phone was adorned with a beautiful AMOLED display and it had free navigation. The one thing it didn't have was a touchscreen.

    RIP symbian sliders.

These are the phones HMD must be resurrecting and not the dum 3310 or such. But of course they won't do that, they just after the profits and won't work on phones they way OG Nokia did

                    2024 New

                      RIP noki

My favorite slider phone is the Xperia Mini Pro or X10 Mini Pro. Sad no one makes any more, my friend has an X10 Mini Pro and that phone is smaller than my Galaxy Star. Sony Ericsson makes true compact phones.

Now he is alone in a room watching a!_!tistick cartoon all day . Go outside and see how many lives cheap electronic destroying. Everyone is alone , depressed and forced to watch thing they don't want. 100 dollar china phone push propaganda as ads . It never became cheap . It's just we pay a different price .

Definitely a pivital point in the history of Smartphones. Sadly they went belly up the second iPhone and Android came out, personally, I would've wanted them to continue the harmattan project, I had a n900, n950, n9 and all of those ran some version of linux and I mean, i can whip out the N9 anytime, any day and its as smooth as any flapdragon, I mean, just think if they would've continued dropping the highest (sony ericsson wasnt even close) quality phones, today might've looked quite different. Probably the leading people in camera and optics and similar things would be the nokia team, they surpassed anyone back then and OS wise they were quite brilliant... instead of continuing using old outdated OS they tried making their own, sadly, they should've jumped on the silly droid wave. Personally, I'd gone the linux route, which they pursued for a while prior to closing shop. Would've hands down been the sweetest phones ever, running around, collecting data with your N950 in your back pocket, war driving, whatever, you could do much things that you can't with a locked down environment like most droid phones.
Anyway, cheers and salute to one of the premier makers ever (and its not the same nokia that hmd thing, its something chinese, think they bought it up, hoping for mad sick technology, but alas, it was none to find) ;)
                            Peace out.

It's astonishing that almost nobody today complain about how much anxiety virtual keyboard give everyday . Almost none talk about every single phone needing a back cover and tempered glass is an engineering flaw not fashion accessories .

Modern day smartphone is smart at spying for companies. Not smart to make our lives better . When I switched to simple keyboard I realised how many words I have forgotten how they spell . Try it you'll be surprised. This thing is just making us dumb .

DemonSpeed, 05 Nov 2023Good thing Nokia died. Of not phones would have costed 300... morenokia has revived, it is under HMD and ended up making garbage phones that are barely usable.

this is an amazing era, very manufacturer tried different things, every phone had a istinct identity of its own. today all look the same. miss that era.

                                    Good thing Nokia died.
Of not phones would have costed 3000$ today.

Nokia N86 is medium size phone. Why now people call large phones (for example apple iphone 12 mini) as compact phones? Does size of people's hands increased from year 2009?
