Doesn't look different to me tbh, but maybe a little bit.

Either way, anything else you've mentioned unfortunatelly doesn't apply to me, vivo doesn't sell any phones in my country, or to be fair they don't sell anything here, and practically don't exist.

Not sure things will still be different or not. Iqoo was better on updates vs all other Vivo China ROM phones.
Iqoo is the online brand without store support like on X series (e.g. on X series you can exchange screen protector for free every 2 months, or cheaper exchange of camera glas and so on). Or very cheap battery replacement once inside China. The vivo X90Pro+ glas on the camera is really easy to scatch - only solution is a soft/rubber protector on outside of glas, with a hard one or none you will easily get scratches, so it's really annoying you.cannot get the glas replaced outside of China.

For Iqoo series - I think you can buy batteries? For all other Vivo phones Vivo only exchanges batteries - so out of luck with China only models outside China - can only buy batteries and hope for the best (usually never original no matter what the seller says as Vivo does not sell them).

Anyways your phone might just be faulty, or vivo is just simply not for you, which I accept but that doesn't make their phones or their software bad.

Vivo is decent on security patches on global rom, they usually arrive monthly at least the first 2-3 years but 1 month late each time. On China ROM vivo only pushes about quarterly security patches (also 1 month late - that is if you use the trial versions, otherwise add another 2 weeks) - about every second update has no security patches on China ROM. It's a bit random though - sometimes takes 2 months, sometimes 4 months for the next security patches to arrive (1 month late on publication usually)

DarlingYext, 09 Nov 2023"E.g. the current flagship vivo x90 pro+ still stuck o... moreNotifications are fixed in dark mode only since the mid September update - so they were broken for basically 11 month dark mod (which was also July patch) - but with that update cannot remove plenty off apks anymore, others reinstalled, and battery life nosedived in standby.
Just loads of inconveniences - like constant nagging to revert to default launcher, phone goes crazy if you actually block all connections to China for com.vivo.pushservices (this needs activating the hidden require VPN for all connections options - otherwise it's circumvented) and plenty others. I only use it as a camera now, the phone software is just trash and I reverted back to my old Huawei P30 Pro because if you stop the China spyware on the X90Pro+ while having lots of active apps - this phone is just rubbish - especially if you need Wechat (China notification system) as well as western apps - and then connect a smartwatch.

Downgrad is also not possible - otherwise I would go back to the August/September update until I replace this phone with either Galaxy S23U or something else with decent software - never ever again a China ROM without bootloader unlock/root for me. Maybe thinking about Honor Magic Pro 5 or 6 - but prefer Samsung or Google OS (but Pixel 8 Pro has horrible battery life on mobile data - which is the only kind of data that counts for me - because battery life at home/work I don't care) otherwise it would be my clear favorite.

That is super strange, altough I'm not that surprised, because my X Note is also stuck on July security patch, not that I think it matters, as I don't have any issues with anything not working, or notifications not coming in. It must be an X series thing, given that my iQOO 5 Pro has the September security patch, I even have that linked in this comment section, so you can check that it really has it.

"..like anything related to notifications, simple Things simply not working right.."

What exactly do you mean by this? I don't have any issues like these, so maybe I can help you fix some of them.

I believe IQOO though is pretty good in this regard so there's a good chance they will have the same optimisation
