They were the only manufacturer that sold over a million foldables. That's important because China is emerging as the biggest foldable market. I'm seeing numbers (not verified) that will easily put China over the 10 million mark for '23. That is in contrast to about 2 million in '22.

      Samsung had the second highest market share from their flip sales. Oppo was third.

        Flipping a smartphone to make it half size whenever you don't need it is something you use all the time. Dragging a chonky double thickness phone around to _some times_ make it a tablet is impractical. I have a tablet. I never use it. Why I pay premium money to turn a phone into the thing I already don't use?

              But seriously, flip phones are useless. Their inner screen is not that durable enough (not just scratches but the screen protector might peel off) and what's the purpose of folding it in half other than fitting in small pockets? For book-style foldable, at least there's a better purpose - no need to carry a tablet and the phone simultaneously, you can have them fit in a pocket.

                  Because foldables are like two phones it could have batteries of 10 00 mAh having a tablet sized phone with a battery capacity worse than a classical style bar phone is a big no.
