Google and major European carriers ask the EU to make iMessage a core platform service

So that Apple will be forced to make iMessage play nice with other RCS.

I don't know why google cares here in Europe. We just use whatsapp and nobody cares what phone you have.

    I remember times when you didnt need any intermediary server to talk to another endpoint on internet..... we hoped GSM providers would remove NAT sideeffect that your IP is not reachable from other public IPs but no....

    DarkPatterns .. in theory you dont need it but in reality Vodafone etc still want you to lock in system when u need their service (RCS sms etc) or gate services to talk to other ppl so they can bill you. Google totally overshoot with RCS .. pushing things for years... i denied every time request to use RCS... now somhow its enabled anyway... Google if you dont know how to make any chatting sustainable dont pretend with RCS you will be able...

    Therefore Apple to be point to point without any stakeholders in between has my support

      "Texting between iPhones and Android phones use SMS and MMS, outdated systems from the 90's and early 00's. The result is a poor experience—they do not support modern texting features like end-to-end encryption, high quality media sharing, read receipts, typing indicators and more."

        This is what I've been talking about. Nice.

              I think Apple, deep down is scared or pushing away RCS because of the green/blue bubble controversy. If this does happen, sales in Android OEMs will increase, so Apple is trying to off put this DMA-rule

                  I guess Google had enough of the ads. Apple also said "f*ck off" to Google as well and to just buy an iPhone. I'd be pissed too but jesus christ
