Actually Foxconn and Pegatron are Taiwanese.
Its good that the Tata Group is manufacturing iPhones. Its been manufacturing Mercedes components for decades and also brought Star Bucks and a few other global franchises to the country.
Micromax was bit of a scam artist, and that's why they didn't really suceed at making any great smartphones. Mostly Tata, Adani and Birla apart from the new Unicorns can lead India into creating Its own smartphone brands.

Huge respect for the Tata group. But after getting all the benefits and concessions from Govt of India under PLI and Make in India, if Apple is NOT reducing the prices of their products, it's useless for us.

Possibly after gaining experience in manufacturing iPhones maybe in future TATA or some subsidiary/proxy company will start making their own phones just like the chinese learned and are now manufacturing high quality smartphones.
