It gives a whole new meaning to "wearable technology".

It's now released and it's garbage.

Adore the semi-modular battery and monochrome projector for the sake of your eyes but the rest is awful for $799.

Just buy a normal smartphone or vote your wallets for the nostalgic keypad smartphone with flagship performance, infrared blaster, expandable storage and headphone jack to make a return. (Without the unnecessary cameras.)

There is also an unrelated Ai finger ring from a different company that is a complete communication device in itself. Product not yet available.

Some folks actually loathe your regular rectangle of plastic that you other folks been into since Matrix back then was seemingly so cool.

When I saw this at first glance I thought it was some wireless headphone casing haha, then I saw the news somewhere else and it seemed fine to me as far as it said that apart from paying for this thing, you have to pay a subscription of 24 dollars a month hahaha

Well, it's even April full joke, or this comoany launder money? 🤣

danielfgom, 10 Nov 2023Honestly I had hoped for more from Humane. To be fair I ... moreLooking at a phone screen image of a room to find something in the room is absurd.

Let the laser projection beam ahead to quickly highlight what is important only makes immediate sense.

101dude, 10 Nov 2023It's a 700 dollar device even a 100 dollar phone can do thatI believe that monthly fee is the 4G LTE T-Moblie, a basic $24 monthly.

Plus, the device uses LIDAR without the cam, and thus intreprets 3D shaped Gestures as input.

Go on the Magenta plan and you are 24/7 on SkyLink's LTE with T-Mobile.

Humane has made statements that seem to convey that the images on the monitor are now under prohibitive regulations, that seem to imply images are now prone and not of worth as much as other info conveyances. Plus, monitors are battery suckers that cost to repair.

NeonHD, 10 Nov 2023> AI virtual assistant that is based on Microsoft and Op... moreThey think they can get away with this kind of crap decisions because they hold the PC market in their hands and are full of money.

                          Soon their empire will end.

                            > AI virtual assistant that is based on Microsoft and OpenAI tech
So basically it has Bing in it?? Bleh.

I find it so ironic that Microsoft is putting an end to Cortana when the AI era has just begun. Cortana was originally supposed to be just that, a very smart AI assistant in the fictional Halo universe. Her existence in the real world right now would have been VERY fitting, but nope, instead we get a lifeless Bing and Copilot AI assistant, devoid of any personality or homage to science fiction.

Microsoft developed her too early in a time when AI assistants such as J.A.R.V.I.S. were still science fiction. And now they killed her off when she finally has the means to exist!!! 😠

LOL. Probably another Silicon Valley scam. I mean throw a bunch of marketing mumbo jumbo, call it AI, so typical of Silicon Valley BS.

Honestly I had hoped for more from Humane.

To be fair I see what they are trying to achieve and it is not a bad idea overall because you don't constantly have to look at a screen. However the pricing is all wrong.

The device should be free. You sign up for $30 per month and that includes the device and the SIM card with a data plan.

Here in Cyprus I use a Pay as you Go SIM and for €10 a month I get 400 minutes, 400 SMS and 20GB data. That would easily be more than enough for a device like this as it's not pulling video or images only text.

The other €20 could be Humane's profit.

When you start naming your basic tech with bombastic names, you’re overcompensating for something.

Unpopular opinion, but I think this thing is heading the Theranos way.

It's like a smartphone and a Google Glass had a child. And now, Nobody wants it 🤣🤣🤣

No screen. No keypad. Probably lousy camera. AI which won't be better than big brother Google.
How did it get approved for production? It's also placed next to your heart, cause smartphones aren't close enough to cause issues with health?

Plus It's insanely conspicuous, and too large not to crumple your shirt/t-shirt.
