Snapdragon Satellite not happening after Qualcomm and Iridium end partnership

Smartphone makers have not included the technology and prefer standard-based solutions.

This article is not well written. It lacks clarity. It's also quite verbose.

The purpose of Satellite phone is defeated if it needs access to Tower (base station) all the time to access the Satellite. Hence the problem is with the write up, not the practical use of the Sat-Com...

According to the below paragraph, nearby presence of mobile tower antenna is required for access to the Satellite communication. Then how users can make or receive calls and messages in Himalayas or Sahara desert because there is no tower there.

"Qualcomm said in a statement that smartphone companies will continue to use standard-based solutions. This means the phone will keep connecting to a cell phone tower, which is then connected to a base station, which in turn gets the signal from a high-orbit satellite."

Come off, any flat earther knows that the satellite com is but an extra terrestrial network with a few balloons here or there. That means you should not put your money on satellite anything. Please do not argue with me. Thank you me for I am giving you a solid advice. If you think there are satellites, use a phone claiming sat nav and test it out over the ocean somewhere. Enjoy.

A big question is, how many of you are ready to pay a monthly subscription for it?

Now you understand. Now you're ready to skip this topic for few years.

This feature in Android is not necessarily dead for now, but could be implemented without Iridium.

That would be sad if S24 series are released without this feature.

Oh and also, Huawei also uses Snapdragon chipsets.
