Introducing our new battery life test.

The Iqoo 12 has impressive cameras. The periscope is actually amazingly good. It is miles ahead of the Xiaomi 14 pro, on a completely different level. 10x zoom and 30x even beats the Xiaomi 13 ultra. Best allrounder periscope on a phone yet for versatility. The optimisation really surprised me. The main camera is also really good. The ultrawide though is what you'd expect for a Jn1 sensor, not bad but nothing special

"The iQOO 12 series was unveiled in China. Both phones have Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipsets, 144Hz displays, and impressive triple cameras on the back. The Pro has a higher-res 1440p panel, wireless charging, and a slightly bigger 5,100mAh battery. Both phones will go on sale in China on November 14, with the iQOO 12 Pro starting at CNY 4,999 (€642, INR 57,150), and the iQOO 12 at CNY 3,999 (€515, INR 45,700)."

iQOO 12 may just be 2024 phone of the year. 144hz OLED HDR10+, blazing fast SD8 gen 3 with an amazing camera system. And the lowest configuration is JUST 550USD. Other candidates I can see is S24U, OnePlus Fold/12 and Note 12 Turbo. I don't see Pixel 8 Pro as a candidate because of the battery life and the chipset is worse (in raw performance). iPhone 15 Pro is just mid in terms of software. Restricts you of anything fun.
