Sony Xperia 10 V gets Android 14 update

justasmile, 14 Nov 2023Seriously overpriced for a snapdragon 695 and 60hz.It was designed from scratch to give more battery life, you have chinese phones with 10,000mah and fail to match that battery life because they didn't choose well their component. No soc out there will give you more battery life than 695, no display out there will give you more battery life than 60hz one.

If this phone use More powerfull soc and 120hz display and endurance were 110-130H no one will bat an eye it would be just another midrange among thousands of midrange.

But now anyone who want phone for field, and want to stay places without power you can just recomend them Xperia 10 series.

                  I know the Mk4 model will get Android 14 as well, but it'd be nice if the Mk3 model gets it as well. Snapdragon 690 is still a plenty powerful SoC for everyday use.

                    Too bad they cannot figure out how to update the screen to at least 90Hz.

A54 display is sufficient enough and thats about it. No one cares about 120hz, HDR10+ or whatever when the image on that display looks too processed and lacking.

                                    Fun Fact: The Xperia 10 series have used all SnapDragon 600 chips. Xperia 10 I had a SD630, which then jumped to a SD690 (same as 695 but has 4K) in 10 III and finally, the trashy and mediocre SD695. People like this phone only because of SD card and headphone jack.

                                    Sony, get serious about your mid-range phone game. Competitors (A54 and Redmi Note 12 Pro/Pro+) offer WAY better performance and displays. A54 has a better E1380, HDR10+, 120hz, 4K recording and a better build quality. Redmi Note 12 Pro has 120hz, DOLBY VISION (a company you worked with several times), D1080 (on par with 1380), 4K, gyro sensors and Wi-Fi 6.

                                    (Also, the Redmi is cheaper than your crap.)

                                      Done waiting for Sony to make the 10 series a proper midranger. Still would be entertaining to see how the 10 series would be gimped again next year.

                                        10v sells less than 10iv.
                                        5v sells less than 5iv.

                                        Another brand that does not understand that only Apple keeps selling same amount ( or even more) while doing downgrades or removing stuff.
