xMEMS announce world’s first ultrasound solid-state speaker for TWS earbuds

14 November 2023
These solid-state speakers aim to replace legacy push-air amplifiers with ultrasonic amplitude modulation.

I'm looking forward to this technology yet I too would want full range xMEMS implemented and refined using a future Bluetooth 6.0 spec where true Lossless or Lossy Hi-Fodeleity audio of 24/32-bit audio of 192kHz frequency with lower than 15ms latency can be a reality!!

Dats whatssup!

Anton el papy, 14 Nov 2023That same expression was said in Nokia, Blackberry, Microso... moreAnd some people NOT in the know had NO Idea pieces of the iPhone OG was already in the making before Apple started that project.

1.iTunes on a mobile phone = Motorola Rockr OG (greenstone tiny 1" display phone modeled after thr Timport 8300 (?).terrible implementation- mostly Apple's fault as they knew nothing about external storage on mobile nor cared. Notice iTunes never again showed up on another phone since?! Only Apple products

    2. Nokia N80 first to feature the S60 Brwoser that had "mini-map" also featured on N95 and the E61i featured on Steve Jobs' announcement on stage launching the iPhone.

What Steve Jobs FAILED to mention while insulting Nokia was it was Apple ans Google that created the KHTML browser based on Netscape Browser which for a decade became a standard for smartphones.

Jobs ALSO didn't mention it was Apple that created the S60 Browser and worked with Nokia for control and I.olementation when it first shows up on the N80 and again on the E61/61i/E62! And Every other S60 phone after!!

It's a slight if hand and old magicians trick that Jobs done on stage!!

That minimal showed up in mobile Safari Browser as an accessibility option and just implemented slightly different.

Stoon, 14 Nov 2023another gimmick for new pigeons ... Reminder : BT quality ... moreFalse

Bluetooth Quality 1st begins with the technology itself and it's frequency range & speeds of data transmission and it's security of such data being transmitted and finally it's latency and error correction against packet loss.

Just like how Bluetooth 1.0, 1.2 had extreme limitations woth error correction and packet loss and latency, this was corrected by great companies advancing thr technology in products and further helped with Bluetooth 2.0+EDR spec which led Sony to raise the audio quality eith LDAC the first Hi-Res audio supported by official stamp of approval getting up to 990Kbps at 32bit / 96kHz.

Codecs, DAC speaker drivers and speaker technologies ad the polish that refines over Bluetooth itself.

      FYI Bluetooth 6.0

"The High Data Throughput project was established to address this growing market need and intends to support data rates up to 8 Mbps.

specification development project is underway to define the operation of Bluetooth LE in additional unlicensed mid-band spectrum, including both the 5 and 6 GHz frequency bands."

      https://www.bluetooth.com/specifications/specifications-in-development/

Time for you to research Bluetooth history before making another ridiculous statement of pieces you heard elsewhere just trying to be smart.

Mills, 14 Nov 2023Nice but this is gonna cost at least 300 bucks. I know ... moreIf Apple gets first contract & 2st to release a product it STILL WILL BE AN INDUSTRY 1ST!

Doesn't mean they invented the technology.
Man you need to understand meaning of each word and relevance.

If Apple adds a technology to this chipset or a unique way of using it that other OEMs don't then THEY DO have a right to say what they created.

Reading comprehension is something you clearly fail to grasp because you jump on any bandwagon that aligns with your feelings which blind you simply to understanding words and theie meanings. When you understand that and the specific separations of whom created what ans what is stated THEN you can be better understood and uniquely appreciated versus just being another echo, friend.

Carefully read what you stayed and it's meaning.
        Cheers

the trend to lower distortion also means that we get close to an audio driver era, that would mean that it's a matter of subjective taste, because we can introduce virtual distortion like tube's that way. not that i wanted this but if some people want bloated bass, they can simply add it in the EQ App. i'm very excited and wonder how good volume levels are. I'm a quite listener though that loves a neutral true to life signature.

so overall we can expect good availability. a good sign for this is that creative is launching hybrid designs of xmems right now on their website.

personally i wait for a full-range xMems driver since they say they are supposed to go 20hz. this would mean insane bass clarity that goes beyond planar headphones.

As much as I love this, it will still come with a higher price tag and will be almost unavailable globally... The average consumer not caring about the sound because their ears cannot tell the difference. (Seriously speaking, Until I got good over-ears, TWS earbuds have sound the same.)
