Most likely this will keep happening with next years model and the year after too.

Anonymous, 15 Nov 2023You do not just open the phone and replace SoC A for SoC B.... morethis is not the time that Find N usually announces it in December. And also 8 gen 3 which was also released faster than usual.

but why is this a problem? I also said that the 8 Gen 2 is also quite overkill for foldables.

You need to design even new motherboard.
No brand is gonna burn money on this move nor even gonna delay whole schedule just because of the SoC.
Development does not happen in 3-4 months.

Example: Vivo has announced X100 series, be sure they already work on X110 .

David 040882, 15 Nov 2023Uhmm.... what's the problem with SD 8 Gen 2? no problem with 8 Gen 2, considering that 8 Gen 3 was released a few weeks ago and this still uses 8 Gen 2.

[deleted post]Uhmm.... what's the problem with SD 8 Gen 2?

This is about to be the world's shortest review.

Can't believe this uses 8 Gen 2, but it's okay, a foldable phone doesn't need a very powerful SoC.

I'm predicting majority of the review will have "same as OnePlus variant" in comments.

curious to see any difference in terms of software especially cause Asian region gets this instead of the oneplus version (except India and Philippines)
