Any that can't have verified boot (among many other important security features), anyway. Which is almost all of them. For advanced users, maybe that goes well...maybe...though you're missing out on firmware updates, so your device is basically EOL as long as you use that. But the average user? Stay the hell away from custom installations. You're turning your phone into a huge malware risk. I am sorry, but you cannot have a relatively cheap phone, great hardware and great software. That doesn't exist. There's reasons those Chinese phones are cheap. The software is bad and they harvest your data. If you want great software in the Android space, you have to pick up a Pixel (if it ain't the latest, it's not even that expensive either) and install GrapheneOS. You won't get the best SoC out there, not for another few years at least, so it's not ideal for gaming, but you can get great software with great security, a reasonably high level of privacy and without turning your phone into a malware risk.

GREY-, 16 Nov 2023Best phone design I've ever seen. Very futuristic. It's just a glass back with some cringe fonts printed on the back. The fact that this does anything for people, especially when you should put a case on it anyway, is wild.

Software let's this phone down. The amount of times my game would crash trying to log in is too much. The same game on my S22 Ultra never crashed once logging in. I had a 8 Pro and sold it really cheap just to get rid of it. Shame really.

Lol to all the people saying software is useless and to just ROM it. You realize ZTE/Nubia recently disabled bootloader unlocking on the 8S right? They literally removed the fastboot commands needed for it. You have to depend on Qualcomms firehose backdoor. And those bug fixes are pretty important when your media controls don't even show up in the notification panel.
It's one thing to have decent software out-of-the-box and not needing updates after the fact, but it's another when they contain critical fixes to broken basic functionalities because the software is straight garbage. But yes, let's divert most of the funds we have left into making useless waifu AI apps like Mora instead of making sure the basic OS itself functions properly.

Anonymous, 15 Nov 2023The camera bumps are gone!! Yeah 👏🏻👏🏻Does that mean we'll be getting a useless 2MP macro camera? I want an actually good camera. 50MP+12MP+12MP would be enough. And a minimum 32MP camera under the screen as then we could still get 8MP images (if you're wondering where I'm getting that number from, Samsung's 16MP under-display camera outputs 4MP images because of the screen covering it).

ishreal, 15 Nov 2023software is useless when so many indie developers make cust... moreits right. you don't have the option to upgradee ANY hardware. why worry about software update? software patch only fix few bugs, it way 1+ year to next version android update. you don't have the option to upgradee ANY hardware. can you software update to get 4, ge 5? can software add sd card to it?
