Well, even after a year of launch of 14, SOS via satellite service is still not available in the countries like India & some others. Since, this service is bundled with the phone from the date of purchasing (apple never gives you anything for free), apple should refund the subscription amount to the users of those countries. But they won't, as usual greedy apple -_-

I didn't know this service wasn't free. That's such scam. It is emergency service, it should be free. I bet it doesn't cost anything for Apple to run it since people don't get into emergency that often.

Of course you don't know how many you need of such emergency messages when you are in a dire situation but maybe it could be like 20 for 5 bucks or something, just an example.

Would definetly be smthing I would like to have, and that I would pay for. Not that I need such a thing where I live but for when ones to go hiking in the mountains, for example.
