Weekly poll: can the vivo X100 and X100 Pro tempt you with their powerful hardware?

19 November 2023
These are the first (and so far only) phones with the Dimensity 9300. The Pro is also the first phone ever to get a Zeiss APO certification.

Got to unclick every app.
It definitely needs more user friendly global option to allow messages to arrive as soon as they are being sent to you.
However if you are satisfied with it's price/performance, such small annoyance you got to check only once when installed is not so bad.
If it doesn't work even then, it's way bigger problem.

I will never import another Vivo phone. They aggressively stop messages from coming through for no apparent reason. No matter what you do in settings you're always missing messages. No other phone brand does this.

i would be tempted if they allow to unlock the bootloader. oh wait, its got mediatek🗿 don't want orange state issue during boot screen.

Anders, 19 Nov 2023So the Vivo X100 Pro only gets a 1260p display but the supp... moreResolution is not everything, I would guess screen is brighter or more color accurate.
              1. You want to see Something,
              2. you want to see accurate colors.
So you not end up shooting white and getting rainbows,
though some cameras still do that with blinds in test shots rofl.

The problem with these Chinese premium flagship, especially overseas outside China, is that at the price segment, you might as well get an iPhone or Samsung. Once you're at these $1000+ segment, brand and software becomes more important. FuntouchOS is alright, but it's not a $1000 worth level software with the polish like iOS or OneUI. Then there's the update support part. I've seen people trying out these X series Vivo phones, but when the next new Galaxy or iPhone come out, they're back with Samsung or iPhone.

Just curious about what company is going to introduce new Snapdragon devices in Western market.

Till then, I can just hope for a good deal on a S23+. I can't stand curved screens.

So the Vivo X100 Pro only gets a 1260p display but the supposed budget brand iQoo 12 Pro gets a 1440p display?
But then the iQoo only gets USB 2.0 whereas the Vivo gets 3.2..??

I really miss when phones made some sort of consistent sense.

There are better flagships that answer makes zero sense because with its specs and price there is no phone better than this one right at the moment.
Maybe if Oneplus 12 will be released there will be a better flagship but right here right now the nearest closest competitor by specs is Xiaomi 14 pro and that one is definitely not better but second from all available phones right at the moment.

It's from China the only thing need to know

Again, don't post polls BEFORE you review a product. Out opinions might change once we learn more about the phone

If the D9300 proves to be better performing and more heat efficient than D9200, I'd buy one. For now, I'll wait for the review.

vivo X100 is looking good value here, idk where the exact price if its Xiaomi 14 a lower value than the X100.

I've seeing a good potential of X100 in terms of sustained gaming performance used D9300 can be found on the Geekerwan channel. And overall, that X100 is an all-rounder flagship.

In this competition, let just wait for the Oppo/OnePlus, Samsung, and among other brands in which brands uses the greatest chips from qcom and mtk.

i believe the both phones are an overkill for the consumer market. What is their price actually in usd american dollar currency? I bet it is way over the thousand usd. Both have rather overly complicated cameras. If only on the software side these features are supported correctly and are usable.

So to say, i'm not geek myself, and for everyday use these both are too complex.

If there is a chance i would practically prefer a phone in form of galaxy/iphone plus size, with main 1/1,49" cam + 90mm telephoto, and correspondingly good selfie cam also. That would suffice, no need for monstrousity, maybe. D9300 is superb, btw.

Anton el papy, 19 Nov 2023You have to update my friend... you are still in 2012https://www.statista.com/forecasts/1410311/most-popular-smartphone-brands-in-japan

Maybe someone should go out of 2012 instead. 🤭🤭

Tbh, I'll wait for the Ultra variant as Vivo always gives the best camera hardware to it.
