DBS, 19 Nov 2023Yeah NONE of these are small Android phones AT ALL. - ... moreThe ability to remove the notch from the main display area was one of the best features of one UI because the punch hole or notch was then a separate part and didn't look as ugly as it usually does being a part of the display. They removed the feature now. Can't consider a Samsung phone after that

All said deals are just a robbery on a customer compared to One plus Open for 499 which is crazy, mad, insane price.

I can't understand why is it so hard for the manufacturers, especially Chinese ones to come up with a compact. Lately only Xiaomi 13 and 14 is relatively compact. We want more of 70mm wide phone. It doesn't have to be a flagship or have 4 cameras at the back. Just slap the midranger snapdragon or mediatek chip and make it chargeable at least at 33W.

Yeah NONE of these are small Android phones AT ALL.
- The Zenfone 10 is BIGGER than the already oversized S23, despite the smaller screen due to the thick bezels.
- The Xperia 5V is EXTREMELY tall thanks to Sony's insistence on the stupid 21:9 aspect ratio, making the overall phone far bigger than the S23.
- And the S23 itself is enormous, which is now made even worse by the software as Samsung not only got rid of the old virtual bezel that allowed the screen size to actually shrink (by making the black bar around the screen hole unusable with everything falling bellow it, including the threshold to swipe down from the top), but OneUI 6.0 has ruined ALL the one-hand usability designs.

Devices to consider:
Zenfone 10 (670 pounds) - Compact tank of a phone. Go for this if you like. :)
One+ 11 (470 pounds) - Same chipset in Zenfone. Just larger and more cameras.
Nothing Phone1 (300 pounds) - 778G+ chipset, punchy screen and glyphs! What more??
Note 12 Pro (250 pounds) - Get this for HDR10+ and headphone jack. Proximity too!
Galaxy A34 (same, 250) - Get this for longer OS updates and better IP rating.
Galaxy Watch 6 (44mm, 270 pounds) - Same hardware but thicker bezels. Who cares?
Everything else, theres a better alternative for it. For example, Xperia 10 V is at 349 USD.
You can get the A34 for 250USD (if you act quick). D1080 runs faster than SD695. Headphone jack? Buy an adapter. I don't care anymore.

As the Zenfone 10's real dimensions are around the same size as the S23's, yet the S23 has a 0.2" larger screen, I think the S23 could be the better buy for a lot of people.
