[deleted post]What's there to try? A fact is a fact. That can't be changed.

But enjoy paying overpriced logos. Even though you get more for the same money, from other brands.

Zendroid, 22 Nov 2023Again, your point doesn't make my point any different ... moreTL;DR What I'm saying is, if you have a problem with this phone being more "brand than value" (which isn't true in the first place), then technically you should have a problem everything you buy. Do you have a problem with those Adidas/Nike shoes that you wear? If not, then you shouldn't even be complaining about this product.

Zendroid, 22 Nov 2023Again, your point doesn't make my point any different ... moreWell, technically speaking, you are in fact paying for the brand for anything and everything that you buy. Your bread, your shoes, your screwdriver, your shampoo, everything. I don't know about you, but most people consider the reputation of the brand when buying, not just the product itself.

Even if you buy something for its value, that's still technically paying for the brand. The brand and the product are so closely tied together you cannot separate them, that's a fact. There ARE exceptions to that though. Children and teens, for example, are not mature enough to see products for its real value; they often make judgements based off brand first. It is why every child is screaming for an iPhone for Christmas. There are also places like Brazil where many people are indoctrinated (fancy word for brainwashed) into believing that brand is the most important thing. It's why so many fools in Brazil pay for Apple products; in this case they are 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 paying for the brand.

But otherwise, people do normally consider both brand and its value, not one or the other. In the context of this phone, I think brand is actually the least important factor. For $700, people are paying for two main things: 1) The value, and 2) The form factor. Does anyone even care for Motorola these days?

        > 𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙥𝙖𝙮𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙫𝙖𝙡𝙪𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙡𝙤𝙜𝙤, 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙫𝙖𝙡𝙪𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙩.

Two things wrong with that statement:
        1) Generally speaking, this is not true. Like I said, people normally take in consideration of both factors. They buy because of the brand's reputation, and they buy because it's a good product itself. If the brand wasn't good, they wouldn't buy the product. If the product wasn't good, they wouldn't buy from the brand.
        2) Neither is that statement true towards this specific phone. Why would you think you're not paying for the product? What makes you think people are paying (or want to pay) for the Motorola logo? ⁽ʸᵒᵘʳ ˢᵗᵃᵗᵉᵐᵉⁿᵗ ⁱˢ ᵗᵒᵒ ˡᵒᵃᵈᵉᵈ ᵗʰᵃᵗ ᵃ qᵘᵉˢᵗⁱᵒⁿ ʰᵃˢ ᵗᵒ ᵇᵉ ᵃˢᵏᵉᵈ ᶠⁱʳˢᵗ ᵇᵉᶠᵒʳᵉ ᴵ ᶜᵃⁿ ᵉᵛᵉⁿ ˢᵃʸ ᵃⁿʸᵗʰⁱⁿᵍ ᵐᵉᵃⁿⁱⁿᵍᶠᵘˡ ᴸᴼᴸ⁾

Fact? That sounds more like a very narrow-minded take. The issue here isn't whose point is more/less valid, or whose facts are true/false. The issue is your inability to understand the flaws in your logic. Many inconsistencies in your logic destroys the argument that you're trying to make, like the manufacturing cost fallacy.

NeonHD, 22 Nov 2023Again, your point / logic doesn't make any sense. ... moreAgain, your point doesn't make my point any different and your point isn't any better.

You are paying for the value of the logo, not the value of the product. The end.

You can't change that fact, no matter how many points you will use.

Literally no one can buy a product that isn't priced well above its cost to manufacture. So the terms that you're asking for doesn't exist. It's like asking to buy a house today at the same price as the 1920s, which was around $6500.

I'm not even gonna bother hearing out what you say unless you fix your core logic first.

It's got the 8+ Gen 1. The 8 Gen 3 exists. (not to mention the other horrible specs) This is a scam at $700.
