          I don't understand why people still use sms as a daily driver,when there is Messenger/Whatsapp/Meet/Viber/Signal/Telegram,... Those apps also deliver videocalls.

                    This is the exact reason why Apple is reluctant to share iMessage with other platforms.

                    Also, it is in human nature to reject the fact in the first instance. They should have accepted the fact and given assurance for better security enhancements. I wish someone comes up with a better future of inter-app connectivity where we don't just rely on encryption; rather, the port itself should be so secured that data may not end up anywhere else.

                            Apple already stopped the development of ios 18 so expect it will be same as ios 17 with few exclusive features only for higher end phone

                            Regular phone dont even have always on display which you find even in cheaper android phones

Phones are not a cooking recipe. It is not 8+G1(230$) + 1080p 120hz OLED panel (170$) + 12GB RAM(40$) + 512GB storage (60$). That's not how phones work. You are not building a PC. All of these parts cost money both to design, manufacture, and implement. You have to take into account paying your developers to. Then of course, profit so you actually stay in business. Because ya know, contrary to popular belief you actually have to pay your employees. That also costs money. So at the end of the year you have many factors that contribute to the cost of your products, including batch costs (how much you're paying to manufacture your parts which depends on the quantity needed, manufacturing process, whether or not the employees are given a fair wage, and shipping costs), software support (depending on how well your team works together your software division may be more or less efficient, and you also have to pay for the ongoing software support of your products, and leave in a buffer in case of unforeseen work being needed, say a bug that takes a lot of resources to fix), shipping costs (if your company is based out of the US but mostly ships to china, you'd have more shipping costs than a company based out of china), worker wages (are your workers paid a fair wage, do you have enough to pay them for a certain period of time if your sales are paused because of a recall or legislation that requires you to change your packaging or software before you can resume sales), rainy day fund (have you accounted for recalls, sudden negative public opinion, mass RMAs due to a product design flaw.)
                                    As you can see there is a hell of a lot that goes into delivering a phone to you. Nothing took a loss on the Phone (1) so that they could establish themselves as a phone company. Now that they've had success, they're switching to a profitable business model. Why? Well you see businesses who don't earn profits don't stay in business. Simple as that. Which is also the simple answer as to why it's entirely unreasonable for you to expect to pay less due to slower updates. How ridiculous.

                                    Software support - comparing to Apple or Samsung is absolutely useless. Both companies have an order of magnitude more experience, and resources. Of course they get software updates faster - especially apple when you consider there's no middle man needed to get iOS onto iPhones, because that's what it's written for in the first place. Whereas, once AOSP is released, manufacturers need to add their skins and software tweaks, squash bugs, and make sure all features are working properly. That time is built into the iOS launch, therefore the launch times of the two are not comparable. It would be like complaining that it's been a month since they got iOS 17 working on the iPhone 15 pro max, so why the hell isn't it on your XS yet? Not comparable. Apple only releases iOS when it's done for all devices.

                                    LG did not charge a premium. Samsung was charging 1400$ for the S20 Ultra in the same year LG released a dual screen phone with the addition of a quad DAC (which adds to cost) for 900$ with dual screen case.
