Anonymous, 23 Nov 2023Not sure where you live, but the Xperia 1 v here cost exact... moreHere in Malaysia, the Xperia is cheaper than the iPhone. The Xperia 1 Mk5 is only slightly cheaper than the iPhone 15 Pro Max by about $20, so it's not a significant decrease.
However, the Xperia 5 Mk5 256GB is a whopping $215 less than the iPhone 15 Pro 256GB. Yes, really - the former is MYR 4,999, while the latter is MYR 5,999. Even without doing the currency conversion, you can tell just how expensive the iPhone is.
Also, we don't have 128GB storage for either Xperia phones. 256GB is the only storage trim available.

Anonymous, 23 Nov 2023not even close... others do not have headphone jack and sd ... moreCouldn't agree more. I sold off my S22 Ultra for my current Xperia 1 iv, and it's hands down the best phone I owned so far. Having the headphone jack proved to be super useful when using an external mic.

That's why Xperia 5 exist as a smaller and less expensive alternative to Xperia 1 and also iPhone Pro and vanilla Galaxy S.

$1,198 for Xperia 1 v 256GB? Now that is a deal worth going. It's in the same price as the Galaxy S23 Ultra and iPhone 15 Pro Max, and it's a much more complete hardware thanks to headphone jack and microSD card slot. But I'm still happy with my current Xperia 1 iv, so maybe I'll wait for Xperia 1 vi to arrive.
