I don't think Sailfish will be a major player and I doubt it will overtake Windows Phone and BlackBerry (except maybe in China, where I expect them to perform well). But I think it will be bigger than the other new platforms, Firefox OS, Ubuntu for phones, and maybe Tizen.

I like it from the looks of it.
I don't like that you can pre-order, or better become a shareholder, for something you know nothing about.

For me the Jolla phone wouldn't have to have a fullHD screen, top of the range processor and all that "I have a little one so need compensation" specs.
It must have a HD ready screen (for the size of the 4.5"), I must be able to read stuf in full sunlight (I hate my HTC ONE X for this), it must have 2 Gig of memory to run app's (my HTC starts lagging now) and operating the thing should be a breeze. No deepdiving in menu's to get things done please :-).

If the above would be tested (drop one at GSMArena) and the specs confirmed I would certainly pre-order one. Euro 399 isn't to bad for a refreshing new phone in my mind.

adwit007, 20 May 2013What about display resolution? The video on Engadget would suggest that the resolution is either 720p or 1080p. Not known yet

Where are people getting the 'slider keyboard' ideas from? Look at the pictures posted in this article, the back has interchangeable rear covers.

It's not a slider, it's exchangeable backplate, which apparently allows more than just changing colors. Live feed coming in 1 hour.

It looks like slider phone with physical keypad, and I think it is buttery smooth for their dual core performer.
Looking forward for it, to see what can being. Good luck jolla/sailfish. .. you are very welcome!!! ;-)
