You say in the article that "The screen has the same size and resolution as the original Galaxy S4 - a 5.0-inch 1080p unit" but the photo showing the specs says 1080 x 1920 and 480dpi. Based on that, I'd guestimate the screen to be about 4.6" not 5".

If you look to the top left corner of the phone's backpanel (red) you will see that familiar slot gap which is for prying out the back cover, so it does seem removable. But that could be for just placing the SIM card in maybe. The battery maybe inbuilt and non-removable. Who knows they might surprise us with battery replace-ability yet.

5" Full HD with 480 dpi? Of course not! It's a 4.6 inch.

I believe the camera is also a 13MP, as how the rest of the specs are identical with the S4. And I believe there's another extra feature that it has compare to the XZ, and that's the toughness. I mean, why else would you made it with bolts, right? And it does look really cool. I love this type of red.

This sounds little disappointing ..
Processor - downgraded
Camera - downgraded
and judging from the model no. it seems like more hardware will be downgraded compared to S4 original.
Then why the name S4 in it ?
I expected it as SAME S4 hardware in a tougher shell.
Still hoping for the best from the official announcement !!

480 ppi??? That's insane. It's a 4.5 inch screen. The 5 inch one has 441 ppi.

Why the physical nav buttons? They couldn't secure enough 13MP camera for this model?

scarlet rain, 20 May 2013it looks like crap.not even near to the Xperia Z.it has pow... moreI guess it's a matter of opinion. I actually like the design of the Xperia Z over the Galaxy S4, but I think the shape of the S4 is better. but now THIS phone, the S4 ACtive, looks damn hot except for the 3 physical keys. I love that red back and front. Better than the Xperia Z in my opinion.

This is disappointing.. If Sony can produce the Xperia Z that 's waterproof with 13MPX camera , why does S4 Active only have 8MPX camera. That is such a let down!

look at dust/water resistant Xperia UL ... moreThe Xperia UL looks like a really uncomfortable square brick, and that's also how it feels when you hold it. Just like the Xperia Z.

Anonymous, 20 May 2013Samsung unnerved by the Xperia Z. In effect, this is a dire... moreOn the contrary, this will wipe out any remaining market share Sony was hoping to hold on to. Kinda feel sorry for them, really. Such a good company but smartphones aren't really their thing.

Anonymous, 20 May 2013Will you be able to use this phone under water? For example... moreits rumored to be water resistant, which you would be safe if dropped, lets say in a pool for instance. my guess is that you can probably use underwater as long as you dont go over the limits of time & depht underwater
IP57 certified - dust and water resistant
- Water resistant up to 1 meter and 30 minutes

Now that looks damn sweet. I love the red back, though the 3 hardware buttons don't really look good. But other than that it looks damn good.
