I hope this device can stand on the drops and the the wear and tear that happens on a phone. If this phone survive like Samsung galaxy Xcover 2 its sure looks like a winner and ditch the original S4 that is easily break its screen like a fragile window.

Anonymous, 20 May 2013Still I remember samsung fan says water and dust resistance... moreTo the legions of uneducated.
Samsung has had a rugby line of dust and water resistant phones long before the xperia z.
Furthermore, all the rugby phones are MIL-STD 810F or MIL-STD 810G.
So please go and educate yourself before spouting nonsense

It's funny how last decade's tech slowly starts making it to all those top shelf smartphones. Infrared port - abandoned as means of inter-device communication a long time ago makes a comeback just to be used as a remote control blaster, water/dust resistance - abandoned around the same time, now a cool feature for the most expensive phones.
What's amazing is the fact it all comes back without even evolving slightly - water resistance through silicone rubber insulation? Are you kidding? An equivalent of a phone prophylactic? What about all those fancy nano-coatings? Where is that innovation of which every company seems to speak? I see none. At all. Sadly.

Still I remember samsung fan says water and dust resistance is nonsense. Including the sola's floating touch, they call it useless. But now they are so proud having floating touch gesture and ips certification. What next? Timescape which is now copied by apple, or the pinch-in pinch-out media gallery browser.
