The phone is new, it looks good and has a good price, and it has the storage size I require. I'll buy it.
This is how most people reason, and because they don't spend all day long looking at dumb benchmark numbers, the chipset will not matter one bit to them.

And besides, even if you are able to spend 300 or more dollars, euros, whatever... it doesn't mean that it is necessary to spend more. What is garbage to one is gold to another and quite frankly when I think about the A14 5G and what is capable of while being budget oriented then you actually don't need more. Ok, it's an LCD and not an Oled (which I prefer) but the quality of the LCD on the A14 5G impressed me and they are finally getting rid of the V shaped notch in favour of a (according to my taste) much better U shaped notch. Still not as good as a punch hole but but good enough.
In short, garbage rules :-D

Your S10+ is about to run out of software support, so unless you were fine spending 73$ on a bridge device that you likely have to discard within a few months, you got a terrible deal. Unless you just use that phone offline 24/7 and never store any sensitive data on it, then it doesn't really matter.

What kind of lazy article is this? You saying „6.5-inch 1080p screen, a MediaTek SoC, 4GB of RAM, a 50 MP main rear camera, a 13 MP selfie camera, and a 5,000 mAh battery.“ that could be any phone in the sub $200 range. Why don’t you mention the more interesting specs that the listing mentions, like the fact that the display is OLED, or the size and weight, and the resolution of the other two cameras at 5/2MP ?
