Anonymous, 02 Dec 20238 gen 3 can be easily skipped. Just buy any 8 Gen 2 device ... moreCan you tell us what the "real upgrade" is with 8 Gen 4? They haven't announced it yet and so no one knows what it will bring. Why wait for an unknown "real upgrade" when people can upgrade to a phone that is available for real? I assume you come here and post the same about 8 Gen 5, next year.

Or the mi 14 is a better guess
But a phone not being announced/releases yet doesn't matter because reviewers can get the device weeks in advance

Vivo X series has D... moreIqoo12 is more likely. This has confirmed a global launch. They mention they are not allowed to reveal the identity of the phone.
Why would there be an embargo on the Xiaomi 14 pro China version when it's been officially on sale for over a month and the global launch hasn't been announced yet for that phone

The key to avoid thermal throttling is to keep the chipset's temperature below 60~70°C while also lowering the battery's temperature below 40°C. In this way, you'll get consistent 80-100% (if not just sustained) performance out of any flagship chipset alone. Plus, you get to keep your smartphone's battery from degrading too fast if you always keep its temperature below 40°C. That's why vapor chamber coolers & mini fans (or even your cooling unit at home e.g. aircon) are important in this ever upgrading & improving speeds of every upcoming flagship chipsets. It concludes that cooling both chipset & battery everytime will give you almost perfect performance out of your smartphone. 👍💪👌

As a user of Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra 12/512 no need to upgrade. 8 gen 3 is only 15-20 % improvement over 8 gen 2. Let's wait and see next year 8 gen 4.

There's a "real" upgrade every few months...
Many people desperately need a new phone right now for different reasons, they simply can't wait forever for what you define as "real"!

Performance uplift looks amazing. Higher performance ceilings mean better thermal and battery performance when less performance is desired from the chip, that looks like it'll be great for everything. Thank you Mediatek, for pushing Qualcomm to its limits, we as consumers win in the end
