Ben Dover, 23 May 2013to all you guys stating Tizen is just like bada: unlike bad... moreNokia shafted themselves there they could have had a powerful computing platform meego as their flagship and Symbian for midrange and series 40 low end and dumbfones..I am sick of smartfones to be honest at the moment they are just boring souless monoblock slabs..Get some slider/candybar/clamshell designs out instead of everyday GSMArena announces a new fone and its just the same as the other 1000 before it,,TRUE.

After the Bada fiasco the only way folk would buy this phone or buy into the Tizen system is Samsung guarantee its longevity,,,ie they guarantee that support will be here for at least 5 years minimum etc.

AnonD-56222, 23 May 2013Why bother when there's better alternative coming in Octobe... moreThis is exactly where I'm going. I used to be the biggest Meego supporter here and they brought one device in almost 4 years which wasn't enough. Then they went under.

Intel found Samsung and I started becoming a Tizen fan due to it being partial MeeGo but it took them a few years before any mention of a device was announced so I stopped being patient with MeeGo as none of the OEM's actually follow through with their statements in a timely manner.

Ubuntu will be better anyway as from what they've shown so far, the UI looks really good, has it's own Uniqueness, seems very user friendly, they already have a launcher for Android so if you want the Ubuntu feel but Android apps then you have that option, it seems fairly lag free as of now, a developer SDK has already been released only a few weeks after Ubuntu for mobiles was announced, a device has already been planned for an October release, only a few months after the SDK was released.

This is what MeeGo failed to do. Get devices into the hands of the consumers in a timely manner. I really did like Meego but their time has passed them as they waited too long to do anything.

Ben Dover, 23 May 2013thanks for stating that I'm right, very kind of you :-DBut bada was bad, coz it has few apps. But when it comes to multimedia, it's A+. There was one samsung phone with projector, that one should have the bada. Sad it was a android. I think it was the s-beam or something like that. Those phone with projector needs to be bada because of the os multimedia advantages . Those phone are good for on site presentation. I hope samsung will make another phone with projector that runs on bada or trizen, if trizen adopts the multimedia features of bada.
                Sony fan here btw.

Why bother when there's better alternative coming in October!

Ubuntu mobile is a native linux OS which will be supported by many 3rd-party developers and companies, It'll be better and easier for Samsung to focus on this instead.

to all you guys stating Tizen is just like bada: unlike bada, Tizen was NOT founded by Samsung, but by the Linux Foundation and Intel... they used to work on MeeGo (maybe you heard of that) until Nokia desided to go with Microsoft... Samsung than came along and started working together with Linux and Intel, so this one might be more serious...

Exactly, Bada was abandoned by Sam, the same very probably would happen to Tizen...
