    I am a bit late to the smartphone game. Started using one only in 2014, the OG Moto G with 16gb built in storage and no micro SD card. Have been using a phone with an card slot since 2017, and have been using the same card till now, in which time I have changed 3 phones. Am I the only one who finds an SD card storage useful and not having any issues with them? Why are useful features being removed and pointless features like 2mp cameras being provided?

      Robmac, 07 Dec 2023On my 5th Xiaomi phone here in the UK and never seen a pop up addThere's an app on my Redmi Note 10 Pro, as well as many other Chinese models, called Cleaner. This app has an icon of a dust bin, as it's supposed to clean up your cache, etc. and bin it, freeing up memory. Now, I love my phone, and the app appears to work, but if you wait only for 1 or 2 seconds after the app is finished clearing it's cache files then you get annoying ads popping up. Surprised you haven't seen them 😉

The ads they do have in China in example, are not pop-up ads. But typically banner ads in a certain app. Pop-up ads are typically crap from 3rd party apps one install by oneself. Still possible to disable though, but ahs nothing to do with Xiaomi or any other smartphone manufacturer.

                  Btw, Samsung has ads in their One UI.

                  Oh and getting rid of the Samsung Galaxy Store is also a wise choice, as it can download bloatware without asking you.

                  One UI is one of my least favorite android UIs and that plus the camera performance is why I never opt for Samsung. I have always disliked their photos, even going back to feature phones.

                                  If you love pure Android experience without Ads, buy only samsung. The Samsung's One UI makes Android feel premium, nothing else.
                                  If you love the annoying pop-up Ads of China phones, then buy Xiaomi, Oppo, Realme, Vivo and Tecno.
