      Some here though it was gonna be based on 13 mini, while it miserably failed to sell 30% of what apple expected.

        Again I agree, I mini based SE would be what I personally would like to see most, as it would maintain that distinct SE vibe. But I can see why they might consider going with a larger design.

If you really want a new compact phone, get the iPhone 15 Pro before they dicontinue it next year. The 15 Pro is basically the spiritual successor of the iPhone 11 Pro, a truly compact phone with pro cameras. It's smaller than the 13 Pro/14 Pro. With rumors of the 16 Pro getting bigger to accomodate the new camera sensor, get the 15 Pro while you can.

The SE monicker is basically a model that has lowest cost for Apple, ie reusing old designs. The smaller size is just coincidental. SE = the cheapest iPhone Apple can make.

                And that's fine. Finally an iPhone SE that can have at least battery life as good as a regular iPhone.
                The remaining question is, pricing and base storage. Since it's a huge jump from the previous SE, going straight to OLED, FaceID, and action button, feels like it will be $500-$600 phone, not a $400 phone anymore. And knowing Apple, I bet the base storage will be 64GB. Still, this might become a huge seller year round. Looking forward to it.

Like, if people can just buy a much affordable iPhone with Face ID and LED display and powerful processor, then fewer will buy iPhone 16, or 15. They getting the same size of iPhone but at lower price and just one less camera, hence that will affect sales of other models

                  Apple should take the 12/13 mini body and just make the SE with one camera and there they have it, small affordable iPhone with decent upgrades over the old SE. That will be best

More that the legacy designs used for previous SE versions just happened to be smaller than the equivalent current iPhone models.

                          They appear to be taking a different approach here though as this would be the first time they have altered a design to use as an SE. If they can do that and keep the price within expectations for an SE model, I think going for something at the iPhone 14 size makes more sense nowadays. Smaller screened phones like the mini line just don’t seem to be popular anymore.

Still using my old Iphone se 1. gen and waiting for something compact AND a bit more affordable - just checked, Iphone 13 mini is still available here but the cheapest one is basically 800 euros, so thanks but no thanks.

                              I don't buy Apple's affordable tag they put on the SE line. Phones around 300/400 dollars (Poco, Xiaomi) have way faster chipsets and better battery. Take Poco F5 for example. It's a beast of a phone. Apple is basically getting away with highway robbery. They can at-least have 2 small cameras instead of 1.
